Feds reject school district's plan for transgender student, locker room

"A suburban transgender student's fight for full locker room access will continue after federal officials deemed inadequate a solution proposed by the state's largest high school district, school officials said Monday.

The transgender student filed a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Civil Rights about a year and a half ago, seeking unrestricted access to a locker of the gender the student identifies with in Palatine-based Township High School District 211."

For those who think it doesn't matter who's in the White House and who pooh-pooh presidential candidates statements in favor of transgender equality, ask yourself this: Would the US Dept. of Ed. have stood up for this student if some of the transphobes currently running were its boss?

I think this shows how DO Ed is going to go for the next year. After the election will we see a reversal if one of the Transphobes wins? Could we please have a fiscal conservative snd not necessarily even a social liberal, just someone who will stand up for the rights of all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity and everything else?

Oh, come on! Now the Feds are in it, too? As if the school boards wer'nt bad enough....

I reeeeally hope whoever gets in the White House next isn't a transphobe... This is why we need to vote.
