Breast budding question

Hi All,

Not sure if this is the right place for this question.  So in the last month or so I've notice that many times a day my nipples get very hard and so does the area under the areola.   If I'm cold or in the shower it seems to be really intense.  I don't remember this every happening before in my life.  I'm over 50.  Is this the start of breast budding?  The swelling goes down after a short while.  I'm not on HRT yet, just dutasteride.  It does feel amazing by the way, sort of hoping this is the real thing.

Just curious. Thanks,
Paige :)

What you describe could be it. I recall my areolae "standing up" more when erect than they did before. Eventually (or maybe before, dunno), there was a kidney bean-sized lump of fairly dense (and often sensitive) tissue right behind the nipple. That is what I considered to be the start of true budding.

I know it as a hard lump that is painful to the touch behind each areola. You really don't want to bump them.
Knowing that it means they are growing makes the pain sweet and glorious.

Thanks Jeni and Girl Beyond Doubt.   It doesn't really sound the same.  There's no pain yet, supper sensitive though when it happens.  I guess I'll have to wait and see how this goes.

Oh god oh god oh god! I thought I knew what breast budding pain was, but I had no idea! These last couple of days have hurt worse than ever before! I swear it feels like my whole boob aches. Bruised or like a sore muscle is the best way to explain it. Both sides of course.

I noticed that in the last 7-10 days, they seem to have really started growing too, and I've been doing breast massage the past few nights and a couple mornings too. I usually rub most of my body in lotion after a shower, so it was a natural extension.

Anyways, between the massage and being in a growth spurt, the pain is incredible, but it makes me happy because that means growth!!!

ROFL, my baby will be just laying there in my arms and then she'll all of a sudden start flailing her arms and legs, kicking and punching me in both boobs!!!

OMG.  Three days into breast growth, a (male, of course) friend of mine has to reach up and tweak a nipple.  He doesn't know that I'm on HRT, but I just wanted to slap him silly.  My breasts have grown a bit since then, and if there's a next time, I will slap him silly.  And that was a day after running nipple-first into the edge of a door.  Same nipple?  Of course it was.  :(

I had boobs before HRT and for whatever reason, i was surprised that this happened to me. The disks of tissue, pretty fast enlargement and the pain.

I sort of like feeling the pain though, because it tells me that my change is happening. Anyone else like this? Still, getting hit in the chest now...ouch.
