Today is a good day.

I begun feeling effects of HRT after only 4 day ( today is the 5th)

-I was doing my daily cardio at the gym then my nipples begun to burn like hell. I looked down then noticed that my nipples were hard and pointy .  At this moment i was suprised , i really didnt expect this to happen so quickly. They also were very sensible, i hardly could touch them.

- i feel calmer and also irritable at the same time.  Being emotional is part of my life so i am allready used to this.

- Sex drive increased instead of decreasing and feel totally different... this is what is surprising me the most.

is this normal for 5 day? i bet it has to do with my hormonal imbalance that i had prior starting hormones

i started with 136 pg/ml estrogen level and  28 ng/ml of prolactin

Anyway i am happy right now. i feel like changes will be phenomenal  :)

I'm also five days in, congrats on your discovery!  I  started to have fuller breasts (I already had them from my initial transition  15 years ago).

I don't know what's normal, but I definitely had visible changes and some "bouncing" on day 5.  Which means I have to give my usual advice - buckle in for a wild ride, and don't count on being able to hide things for long. :)

My nipples were sore the first week too and still are periodically after 3 years.

My emotions were hard to control from the first week to about the third month ( I was smiling and in peace but all emotions was deeper and I had difficulty to use my filter when I talked).

My first week on HRT ignited my first libido and it has constantly goes up over time, to the point that before srs it was barely unbearable. Many will experience a decreased or lost of libido with HRT but not everyone.

I am also at my fifth day lol.
More of my muscle is turning into fat, but i have a weird case since 2 mth ago before starting HRT that my leg/arm hair is losing, gaining fat in hips/thigh/butt, and baby hair regrowing on receded hairline areas, so it may affect my decision to start HRT, glad i started.

I also had effects within the first week.

I woke up one morning and my nipples were so sensitive and were hard and pointy.

Exciting times for you archlord.
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

There really is no such thing as normal. There is a "statistically x happens on week y", but that's it. I'm at month 10 and aren't nearly as emotional as I wish I was. However I know there is something wrong with me that happened a long time ago. I think my breasts started to burn in month two, but it only lasted for a month unfortunately. My sex drive dropped to zero for a month or two, but when back up to a reduced amount. I also feel calmer, but that happened gradually over a very long period of time.

1 week later ( 14 day)  update:

Today i woke up producing drop of milk. it looked like clear liquid to be honest but it was comming straight from nipples without doubts.

isnt it a little early to have this kind of development?

Update : 17 days in

ohhhh ! Woke up with breast tissue this morning. I really cant say they are pectoral muscle anymore, they increased in size ,changed shape and feel different. The left one had more development.

I am still a lot sore and itchy .

Im excited but scared at same time, at this speed i wont be able to hide things for long

You can hide your breasts by binding them with a tight undershirt, and be on HRT for as long as you want without coming out. You will look more youthful, and will have better skin, so you may get comments about that, but no one will probably notice that you are transitioning, unless you do things like growing your hair and nails, dress femininely, speak femininely, walk femininely, get electrolysis, have your ears pierced, and do other things that call more attention to what you are doing. The effects of HRT affect our psyches more than our physiology in the beginning, and we tend to think that we are further along than we actually are. Even if someone notices your breasts they will probably think you have moobs. I'm not telling you these things to be a "Debbie downer", I'm sharing my personal experience in hopes that you do not come out too early and upset your life, and lose your job like I did (because I followed bad advice from a therapist) one time before I actually went full time a few years later.

thank you for the advise.  I am not planning on comming out to "strangers" (im out to family and a couple friend) until i feel confortable and FFS are done.  However seeing the speed changes are appearing it is a bit scary ( not going back).   For the skin it started to change too ( less oily)

thanks

Yeah, I would definitely have a fallback plan at this point... I couldn't hide my breasts very well anymore by three months into HRT (I was a 42C at that point) and ended up coming out at work sooner than I intended because of it. You're showing the same pattern of fast early development, so I'd think about what to do if you do have to speed up the plan.

(True binding, rather than just wearing a sports bra and layers, is not a good idea with developing breast tissue - it can damage the breasts.)

breasts are such a small issue in the overall transition process; what if someone needs FFS, has a lot of muscle they need to lose, needs major electrolysis, needs voice training, and other things done before they can realistically expect to blend in with other women; I personally do not think that someone should come out before they are completely ready to do so.  What advantage is there to coming out at your place of employment just because you are showing breast development (which would probably be dismissed as gynecomastia), it's not like you will get fired because of it.
  •

Jenna Marie

kittenpower : Well, for one thing, people CAN be fired for being trans. (But you're right that in that case it's not the breasts that are the issue.) I actually do agree with you that there could be any number of other physical issues, and that no one should feel rushed or pressured into doing something they're not ready for.

But in my experience, for me personally, early fast development was a sign that my body was exceptionally receptive to E. By six months in, I could no longer convince anyone that I was a guy even in men's clothes (including a baggy hockey jersey totally hiding my breasts) and with a male ID. So I still think it's wise to have a *fallback* plan in case things don't go according to the primary plan...

The job i am doing isnt really a problem if this is the case.
I also allready have money saved for the FFS i just need to maintain.

here is my *fallback* plan lol.

Jenna Marie, how long did it takes before you noticed changes in hips?  i allready have an arched back naturally with relatively big booty  and i have a waist(28)/hip(37) ratio of 0.76  .  To be honest this is what matter the most to me as i dont really worry about breast size, most people in my family are C-D cup  except my sister.

Archlord : I'm glad your job is good! That's a huge relief. I don't think you need FFS, either, but it's good to be prepared in general. :)

I think I first noticed changes in my butt getting bigger and rounder in the first 3-4 months; in hips (=upper thighs) there were some fat deposits by about six months but it's been much slower - still going on, in fact. I quit measuring after the first year, but at that point I'd gotten to 38-30-42.  When I measured for the first time a few months ago, at ~6 years on HRT, I was 45" (under bust 37")-28-46. I think you have a terrific starting point in terms of curves!
  •

archlord

Thanks this is encouraging. Forgot to mention the  upper  measurement wich makes me 35(31 underbust)-28-37.  For FFS there is always place for improvement

This comes as fantastic and helpful advice to me Kitten. Although I am out to my partner, the person that matters most to me, I have just started HRT (one week in!) and was concerned about having to come out to people quicker than I am actually am ready to.

I am so sorry to hear your therapist gave you such bad advice that resulted in a terrible experience for you though. :(

More changes that i didnt expect at all :

- I had bags under eyes... well... no more they are gone  :D

- Skin keep getting softer, i had a "ONE" small acne spot on my forehead for years , it would always come back ( i never had acne, only this strange spot).. well its gone!

- My butt got rounder and a bit wider

- and the most unexpected change :  my lips are changing shape and getting fuller . I thought i was crazy and that i had drunk something that colored my lips so i washed and washed again(it wouldnt disapear) until i noticed i had same pattern on bottom lip. I dont know if someone else experienced this but the color isnt the same as my lips, it is lighter but definitivly connected to it.  Just like when the aureola increase in size ( same light color)
