Sybil

Hi everyone,

In about six months or so, I will be moving to the Melbourne area. I was wondering if anyone could answer a few of my questions regarding services that trans women usually seek.

Laser/Electrolysis

There is a website in the US called Groupon that allows me to get deals on laser. I usually buy six sessions for around $200-300 (depending on the area). Is there anything like this in Australia? If not, how much does a typical batch of laser sessions cost? My treatment has been ongoing and I'm worried about it being interrupted due to prohibitive costs.

Hormone Therapy

I've been on hormones for years, and my insurance pays for the hormones, blood tests and GP visits. Are hormones expensive at a pharmacy? Is inruance reasonably priced, and does it cover hormones/tests/etc.?

GRS and Insurance

Is GRS covered by insurance? My main reason for being concerned about the above two points is because I am still saving for GRS. I don't know how to compete with cost of living (even though I have a partner in Australia and will be living with him), GRS saving, and hormones/laser. It all seems a bit overwhelming.

Any answers would be appreciated!
Why do I always write such incredibly long posts?
