My legs go about three or four days between shavings. I don't currently shave
my chest and tummy but I'd like to but I'm afraid of the comfort level/itching.

How many of you waxed or shaved your chest prior to HRT? Or did you do the
whole body laser thing?

Does chest hair grow at the same time at leg hair? Was it uncomfortable in-between?

How long were you on HRT before your could quit shaving?

So many questions I know!

I didn't have chest hair, but I did and do epilate my lower tummy area every few weeks, even after 15 months HRT. It's sparse, but still... I like it gone.

I actually found shaving irritates my skin - and makes me itch - much more than using an epilator.

I'm practically hairless on the backside of my body except for my lower leg. They are pretty hairy and I have a few hairs on my thighs
and fine lite hair on my forearms. But the area between my nipples has sparse but very long dark hair and a lite covering over my tummy of short hairs.

I guess HRT will eventually take care of it but it's so yucky, I want it gone.

Kate, do you have any recommendations on an epilator brand?

Thanks Ashley, I missed that you also used an epilator.

I'll check out that website and you can speak for Kate anytime,
I bet she won't mind too much  :)

Is this the one?

The reviews sound great.

I'm curious Daisy, do you take Spiro or are you just really a WereWolf? LOL.

As of my shower this morning my upper body matches my lower. I'm hairless
and it looks wonderful!

Now if I can stand the wait maybe the Spiro will do it's thing.

No AA drugs at all....  a while back I tried Climara , Estraderm and premarin.   I know -- Bad puppy!! LOL

No true results there at all.  However as mentioned on other topic https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,21604.100.html

I was on hormones for six months.... nothing.    However when I was trying to get my wife pregnant prior to that, we had a doctor prescribe CLOMID for me.

For women here is what it is supposed to do: -- Clomid is often a first line treatment to induce regular ovulation. Clomid works at the level of the hypothalamus where it competes for estrogen binding sites. When these "sites are occupied" by Clomid, the hypothalamus responds by producing more GnRH which then stimulates the pituitary to produce FSH. Remember, in a normal cycle healthy follicles produce estrogclomiden, which signals the hypothalamus to reduce production of FSH. Clomiphene is marketed in the United States by Aventis Laboratories as Clomid and by Serono Laboratories as Serophene.
For Men : -- Just as women need the right balance of hormones to ovulate regularly, men need certain hormones to produce healthy sperm. Surprisingly, the same substances control these reproductive functions in both men and women — so the same fertility drugs that stimulate ovulation stimulate sperm production.

I got definite pre-pubescent budding under my nipple ( not sure I would ever get much more - my mom is flat to put it mildly ), and my skin got softer and my butt seemed to curve out.

Unfortunately there was a major side effect.  You see this drug tricks your body into think it is not producing either Testosterone or Estrogen.  The result is it puts your system into overdrive for both. So even though I saw some results with the feminine effects I mentioned before , I think you will understand the re was just as much or more enhancement on the Masculine side too.  My beard seemed to thicken in a month ( i.e. twice the amount of hair ), hair grew in on my back (UGGG)  and well lets just say I could not keep my hands of my wife.  She did get pregnant by the way.   She says sometimes she wanted to roll up a newspaper to keep me off her. LOL

For women this drug is only used short term and the added testosterone adds to libido thereby aiding potential pregnancy.

I think this is what had some femme-ing effects on my body .... but also sent my TESTOSTERONE into hyperdrive.   Hair grew from places I never expected.

Last I heard women have the same problem, or else why all the ads for women's hair removal products from shaving to laser treatments, so it seems it doesn't end. And tummy to lower abdomen hair isn't a male-only characteristic. So, in the end, it's the old adage, "Get used to it."

But real women do not take Sprio and it suppresses body hair growth.

Not in everyone. Once hair starts to grow it is hard to kill it. I had very little body hair and spiro did not slow, thin, or stop it.

Ok well I hear all of this talk about Spiro stopping body hair from growing...but I'm on Avodart as my Anti-androgen and a get a monthly injection that has DRASTICALLY lowered my testosterone so when can I start to expect the body hair to decrease???

Anyone NOT on Spiro as their AA and on Avodart???

I never shave my body. I always wax. With sugar.

I think after more than a year and a half on HRT, my body hair growth has slowed a little, but I was hoping for better.

Whole body laser? Who's rich enough to afford that? I'm in debt just for lasering my face; I took out a loan. I've been lasering my chest too, but it's adding up to more than I can afford.
Here's what I find about compromise--
don't do it if it hurts inside,
'cause either way you're screwed,
eventually you'll find
you may as well feel good;
you may as well have some pride

I don't really have too much hair, but the places I do don't handle shaving very well at all. It can itch for a long time after shaving, and since I needed to get some genital electrolysis done before surgery, my parents thought it would be a better idea to just get full body done.  I should have my next appointment for that in about two weeks

Suppresses yes, stop no, because we all have some level of testosterone in your system, and it depends upon the suppression and your body (genetics) if it suppresses hair growth to near zero. It's not universal. As long as the hair roots are there, they will grow depending on the level of hormones to activate growth, or even regrow in the case of baldness. As they say, your mileage may vary.

Kiera - the monthly injection I am on is equivalent to a castration - its dubbed a "chemical castration"...so its similar to getting your testicles physically removed thus preventing any further testosterone in your system - which I would imagine would stop your body hair from growing???? I don't know really I am not a doctor but this is the regimen my doctor has me on along with the Avodart and Estrogen so I am assuming it works.  We shall see.

Hi girls,

I epilate once a week using an electric epilator. I have chest hair or at least I did, lol. I have found that it is reduced by about 50% since epilating about a year ago. I have laser on the face, and I will be having my hands and arms done as soon as the face is finished.

Epilation seems to work for me but OMG it hurts at first until the hairs become weaker.

Don't shave the dam things, lol, epilate.

Hugs

I'm lucky that my body hair takes a long time to grow, is spaced out, and pretty fine. I admit, I get lazy and wont shave my legs for weeks. LOL (then again, it's winter, so I don't wear skirts during the winter... I'm cold enough as it is!)

I'm "blessed" with hair on nearly every last little bit of my body. Think "bear" and you'd get a good mental picture.

I get to shave just about everywhere. It's getting lighter, but there is still way to much. The thought of that much electrolysis scare the heck out of me.
