Glad your feeling better & healing.

Yes!  Your comments were well received.  Thought I'd give myself about  24 hrs. before I responded to Chett.  Need to let some of the "emotions' settle.

Hugz!

Good plan Joi :)

I only seem to have swelling immediately below the scars on either side of my vagina, Oddly considering that Chett did significantly more work on my right labia I have considerably more swelling on my left labia, I an not happy with the swelling however because it is hard, I am wondering if it may be scar tissue forming. I think I'll ask Sri tomorrow because if it is I should use massage to break it up I think.

More on this tomorrow

Hi Folks,

Sorry I never updated sooner. The Lump as it's now known which has formed in the tissue below my left Labia got really sore and swollen, I did for a while get concerned, Sri said what most Chett girls will know to be her favourite saying "That normal" apparently Chett cut away some of my deep tissue and used layers of stitching below the skin which it's claimed is the reason for The Lump,

I cannot get a definitive answer from Chett as he's gone to Vietnam until next week. The first time off he's had for 10 years. This presented a problem for me as I was supposed to fly home on 24th (Saturday) I learned a valuable lesson though. While I saved money on my ticket using a web agent because I've had to amend it it has cost me more. Qantas charged me 1500 baht (AU$60) to change the ticket but Webjet only had more expensive Flexi Business available despite a saver fare being available on Qantas website. Total cost to change AU$478 Lesson being book direct and save money on amendments :)

Now my next tribulation of this trip, I have a loose front crown which I always intended to fix over here. Apparently it is also infected and needs removing so with the help of 2 lovely Susan's members I think I have got leads but it isn't cheap.

All in all healing wise I have no bruising at all now which Sri said is really quick healing, The Lump is going soft but is still painful and if it wasn't for the tooth and Bootifulone still needing me I'd sooner be going home tomorrow but hey thanks to the tooth I get another trip to Bangkok in 6 months :)

I was right on.  You've really had your hands full.

Crowns can be a real pain in the butt.  I've got a few.  We've got some pretty crooked dentist "franchises" here in the USA.  If you let them, they will soak you for every penny they can.  Went to one a few yrs. back and after the exam they said one of my gold crowns had a hole in it and needed to be replaced.  I didn't take the hook and never went back.  Five yrs. later, the next time I went to a dentist, asked about the "hole" in the crown,  he said there wasn't one.  From now on, I will  always get a 2nd opinion on any dental work.

Hope the rest of your stay is pleasant!
Is bootiful one doing better?

Went to another Dentist today. It's going to be a pretty expensive affair this tooth business. This Dentist was Thai unlike the previous one, She was cute too  ::) After a very long discussion we developed a plan and I left pretty sure what I wanted to do. Then the more I thought about it the more concerned I became that I was about to waste AU$6000 when return flights are taken into consideration just to fix one tooth, I was going to be left with a missing front tooth for 6 months and no back teeth at all putting all the strain when eating onto some less that perfect teeth and 4 18 year old crowns, I concluded there is a high % chance of one of the crowns giving way making another 6K needing to be spent. There is an almost certain probability that I am going to need top and bottom full sets of implants in the next 3-4 years so it makes sense to save my cash now and just do the full set as soon as possible.

I know this isn't a dental thread but this is a further extension of the nightmare this trip has turned into. I wanna go home I think  :'(

The Lump continues to be present and is at times painful but it's not hindering me getting about Bangkok pretending I know where I'm going  ;D

She's being a real trooper and getting on with recovery :) She's even made it to Breakfast in the hotel restaurant :) I know 2 weeks post op that's pretty standard stuff but I like to encourage people to believe they are doing well :)

Hi Sorcha,

Did you extend your trip?  I am curious, if you are still at the Rama Hotel can you PM me?  I just arrived today for my Op on the 28th and it would be kinda nice to chat with someone -- anything to belay my nerves. :)

Well folks an update.

The Lump remains and seems unwilling to leave, Sri has stopped calling it normal but that could be after I accidentally let slip a subconscious thought. She was answering questions from Bootifulone and i had just done dilating with number 4 so i let slip accidentally I swear, "If you dare say normal one more time I'll hit you with this dilator" Thank God she laughed because I was only teasing. Yesterday she it me playfully twice so I am sure she got the joke.

I see Dr Chett tomorrow and he best not say normal either  ;D

I think I must have some kind of jinx, I met Roxette Sunday morning and within 20 minutes of me going in her cottage she e mailed Som and asked to be moved!!!! The nurses took her to The Vertical Suites Monday Morning, Moral is Sorcha is scary :o :o :o :o

More after my Chett visit

Hi folks :)

Well I finally saw Dr Chett again today ;D I've concluded that whatever people think of his technique or his Surgery Center, You'd be pretty hard pressed to dislike him as a person. Upon arrival there this morning all the staff treated me like a returning hero. Chett himself came in the operating room full of warm smiles and warmly shook my hand. We chatted about his vacation before he inspected his work. He seemed genuinely pleased with how well I have cared for it and how it now looks. I think the bashing over the head with the dilator threat got all the way to Chett as he used the word natural not his usual normal  ;D ;D He thinks When fully healed it will be beautiful and natural. Of course no post surgery meeting was ever going to take place without a discussion about The Lump. He told me when the stitches dissolve fully it will disappear completely. I am willing to trust his judgement for now as he is the surgeon not me. If he's wrong I know where he lives  ;D

We then discussed what I believe will be my next surgical procedure after my teeth, I want a tummy tuck and BA, Tummy Tuck he said he is willing to do and if need be when all the skin is in place another touch up. The BA he thinks I need 600 CC implants  :o :o :o :o I am already a C Cup so only God knows how big I will end up if I let Chett do that  ???

I don't know if I will ever return to Chett as by the time Bernadette is in a position for SRS there could be a totally different landscape in SRS Surgeons. I am certain for all of you who are to see Chett in the future, You will be in good hands.

One of my last updates on this because things have got to the point where returning home is imminent.

Sri comes to see me tomorrow for the last time because on Saturday she has arranged for me to see a local dentist in a nearby hospital, I fly home Sunday evening bringing to a close a truely different experience. One I will never forget.

Healing is still taking place but I am able to get about pretty much as normal (oops I mean natural) The main hindrance now is my left big toe which is seriously swollen and bruised since I slipped over last night and banged the toe into the wall. I am not entirely convinced I haven't broken it.

Maybe Naeree can show you or tell you about a few nice places...  :)

Well in private Naeree has been a big help to me in the dental search. Today I finally got to meet her and we spent about 7 hours chatting and getting to know each other. I highly recommend that if you are coming to Bangkok and want a friend to chat to you contact her. She knows allot of stuff about this city and is really lovely too. I am really pleased I got the chance to meet her and spend the time together

I think we know the answer to that one  ;D ;D

When I had my SRS in March my partner was there and so I had only recovery to concern myself with because I was banned from doing anything else. I think when you receive help you return it, In time I will do for Bernadette what she did for me, This time I promised Bootifulones boyfriend I'd send her home as well recovered as she could be and I think I kept my promise  ;D I tried to help Roxette too but I scared her out the hotel  ;D ;D ;D ;D No seriously we chat on messenger so I think it really was the poor internet that drove her out.

So now I am back in Sydney doing dilation and I thought it could be a good time to pass on some observations for those who will be heading to Chett for surgery.

The Rama is it is slowly deteriorating in quality. The Internet was very shaky and unreliable. As mentioned above it was the reason Roxette moved hotel. One fix for this would be to purchase a Thai sim card for your phone, I paid 1043 Baht and got 12GB of data as well as some SMS and call minutes. This was a 30 day plan, If the data was used up you continue to get data but at a very reduced speed. For most people unless you're streaming video or movies like Netflix for example 12GB is ample. The advertised cable TV isn't available currently, The Spa and Massage offered is permanently closed and only one washing machine for laundry is operational. Another thing I really do advise people prepare for is the hard mattress's. You can buy a Picnic mattress at Tesco Lotus for between 300 and 1400 Baht, This significantly improves things. The Hotel staff are excellent and the quiet ambiance in the Soi where the cottages are is great for recovering patients. The social aspect at The Rama is a compensation but having stayed there twice now and noticing the deterioration in facilities I wonder how long before the social aspect is effected by people choosing one of Chetts other options? I doubt I'll stay there again, I've seen inside The Vertical Suites and even have a low quality video I need to edit showing exactly how nice that place is  ;D

Overall I met some great folk and Chett improved the asthetics of my Vagina so mission accomplished. If any of you have any detailed questions feel free to PM me and I'll answer if I can

Good that you are back home and safe Scorcha, your information is interesting to read just from the standpoint of learning how things are elsewhere. I'm sure everyone that's either choosing a surgeon or decided on Chett appreciates it.

Hello SorchaC,
I was getting sore just reading your ordeal.  Very glad all is finally well with you.
I am scheduled for SRS/BA with Dr. Chett in June of this coming year and have recently become concerned as to whether I have chosen the right surgeon.  Joi asked about your thoughts on Dr. Chett and you sent her a PM in response.  I am really, really interested in your response to her.  Would you mind sharing that response with me?
I thought I had vetted Dr. Chett well, but I just ran across a web site for "Victums of Dr. Chettawut".  Needless to say it kind of scared me.
Your thoughts?

Thank you,
Stephanie

Hi Stephanie :)

I have gone on record as saying how highly I regard Dr Chett, He is a wonderful surgeon and he does genuinely care about his patients.

The nursing care you receive both in his Surgery Center and at your hotel is as good and in some cases better than you'll receive in Western Hospitals. Of course that wasn't what you wanted to know :) The revision wasn't as pleasant an experience as I'd have liked.

I honestly don't think Chett or any surgeon wants to do revisions, Chett will for free and if I'm brutally honest here is where my problems began in my opinion, I'd say not collecting me from the airport while not a huge issue in itself belies that Chett really was thinking of cost not patient experience, A bit cheap was 2 peoples comment to that. When I complained of pain during the revision Chetts response was "it's not pain just pressure" He only realised I could feel it when I mentioned the cold I felt when he washed away blood. He gave me more local anesthetic which failed to stop the pain. I believe he should have tried something else to numb me. This would have been an extra cost. I should have insisted on something and said I'll pay for it even a general anesthetic, I'd sooner have given him $1000 there and then than had that pain but because I just wanted it over with I said ignore me and get it done. I'm not blaming Chett for the anesthetic failing as that could be my own bodies fault,  When I had genital laser to remove my hairs the EMLA only worked the first 3 or 4 sessions after that it was useless so maybe the skin became immune to anesthetic, I will add that while it was an unpleasant experience it never ruined my life, I'm home now and healing is ongoing.

I had a chat to Sri the day before leaving Bangkok, She told me the reason my SRS took 8 hours was Dr Chett spent over 5 hours making space for my vagina internally, I am not a small girl and there was apparently allot of fat in there he removed to make the space for my 6 inches, He is very methodical in his working so this takes time so as not to cause damage. Sri also informed me that unlike allot of patients Chett wouldn't give me an epidural because he wanted to manage my pain himself as the surgery progressed, Sri wouldn't say why but I think it was my size which concerned him. I think that shows dedication, He promised me his best and I think I got it.

When it comes to SRS I am sure Chett is as good as any of the big name surgeons, I am impressed by the result I got considering the skin he had to work with, I've spoken to 2 people who had revisions, They never had the pain during surgery I did. It is very often the case that a revision hurts more than SRS and it certainly did for me. My advice to Chett has been to offer the option of different pain relief even at patients own cost when discussing revisions, I'd have paid for a general in advance if he had offered the option.

Would I go back to Chett for further surgery? Yes in an instant if I have the money. I want body sculpturing and BA so if I save the money after fixing my teeth Chett is my first choice although after talking to Dr Thiti he is going to be cheaper so if I cannot afford Chett that is an option too :)

Hope that helped and if you want to chat my yahoo e mail is available and I'll do my best to help you :)

Hugs

Stephanie,

I went to chett for both SRS and BA in Oct. I just got back couple weeks ago. Still recovering well, I had great result & highly recommended him. You are in good hands, don't worry too much. Be positive! We all worked so hard to get to this point in our lives. This is the final stage that change us forever. It completes us as a woman. #bootifulone

So I thought I would finally reply to this thread.

First off... stay away from the Rama hotel... umm.. yeah.  The Vertical Suite rooms were actually proper one room flats and very modern and clean -- I highly recommend and being right across the road from 3 malls is super convenient.

Anyways, the main reason I am replying is to say a big thank you to Sorcha for being there to help me get sorted and to introduce me to a few others who were there at Chett's during my stay.  Tons of hugs from me girl and no... it really was the poor internet and conditions at the Rama that made me leave... you were a big help so I want to say thank you!
