Hey everyone, it's been a while ;D

I started T about a month ago and I had a quick question. How long did it take you to start growing facial hair?

I'm already noticing my sideburns and the area around there starting to come in, and I'm starting to get hair above my lip. Plus peach fuzz pretty much everywhere.

I thought it would take longer before I noticed anything going on facial hair wise so I'm kinda surprised, not that I'm complaining though :P

I'm happy for you then  ;D

I already had some facial hair pre-t, which was mostly peach fuzz. I have shaved regularly ever since I started though, since I thought it might look weird before it got thick. I'm at four months now and my facial hair has definitely grown thicker, and it grows out faster as well. Don't really have any sideburns though ???

Anyway, I think it's very individual and maybe it depends somewhat on how much facial hair you had pre-T.

I noticed the hair increasing in about two months or so, also noticed my first real chin hair around that time.
Almost 14 months on T, the corners of my jaw and my chin are pretty decently hairy but it's patchy the rest of the way

Facial hair is very individual. I Know someone who is 2 years on, and he just has some chin hairs. Some, not a lot at all.

It's very individual indeed.
Pre-T, I only had the usual soft, blond peach fuzz that estrogene driven bodies tend to have on their faces. On T, I had facial hair within 6 months. After a year, I could grow quite a beard already.

~18 months and am grateful to have coarse sideburns and scraggly beard, and the most pitiful suggestion of a mustache. Sure wish the mustache would catch up but being able to grow a better beard than mustache seems fairly common, amongst cis guys too. Facial hair can take several years to reach its full potential. If the mustache never quite wants to cooperate I may look into getting some hairs transplanted.

Interestingly the hairs on the back of my neck changed, they used to be wispy, lighter in color, and softer than the rest of the scalp hair but now it's like a second beard back there.

Like many say, it's varies from person to person how fast you get facial hair and how much. I started injecting intermuscular and my facial hair started to come in more around 6 months. I've been on T for more than 5 years now and recently switched to Subq, and I noticed I got even more facial hair which finally let me grow a full beard!

This started happening to me too!  I used to have really soft and light hair on my neck, and now it's getting darker, not as dark as the hair on my head, and coarser.

Yeah I guess overall it's really individual. My view was pretty influenced by the people I had known going on T really struggling to grow beards. Obviously that's not the case for everyone :P

I'm over 8 months on T and only have legit but creepy corse facial hair under my chin, other than that, sideburns is getting thicker slowly and barely any hair on my upper lip.  it is frustrating sometimes but again, it is genetic... Considering I already have more facial hair than my father, i'm doing good.  ;D  hopefully the hair genes from my mother side will take over lol  O0

I had more noticeable hair around a year or so (a little over two years now). My best friend started the same time I did and he barely has anything but he constantly shaved his because his is very patchy. Mine was patchy but I didn't care and just let it grow. So I have a very thin goatee going on at the moment. I noticed my side burns coming in first, then my mustache, and thennnn my chin hairs started to come in more. Takes time but it will get thick eventually :)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I've been on T 14 months now, and still have teenager facial hair. My dad and my brother didn't need to shave every day until they were in their mid to late twenties, so I'm expecting this to take a long time. My facial hair is clear, not even white or grey or blond, so you can only see it in bright lighting. My chest and arm hair is also clear.

I'm letting my 'stache and goatee grow for a few weeks to see what happens. I usually use a beard trimmer to keep it down to stubble, and just shave my cheeks and neck. I think the stubble looks better than my wispy teen whiskers (at the age of 51).

I'll be three years on T this December and I'm still waiting for something I could actually call beard. My cheeks are just fuzz and the only place where I have something noticable is the mustache area. I've started to get darker hairs on my chin and sideburn area just this year (few hairs also hidden next to my lip piercing hole...). Apparently I'm going to be a late bloomer or at least I hope so instead of not getting any at all.

I don't. It is one of those major decisions to make when debating about T.

My beard is coming in slowly but fairly nicely. I first started noticing my sideburns coming in and I got really excited!!! That was at about 3 months or so. Started with the chin then the mustache then the sideburns and quietly started filling in after that. I'm at a 18 months on testosterone now and I've got a full chinstrap and my cheek hair is coming in lightly but the vellus/transitional hair pattern looks very good! Still got a cute little baby mustache though :^/.

A beard is my number one goal for being on testosterone other than top surgery. It takes patience, determination and discipline. Throw out your razor. You wont be needing it for this trip. I've been growing out my chinstrap since May and I'm very attached (literally!) to it as I am with the rest of my facial hair.

If anyone other than your boss tells you to shave it off just brush their comments off your shoulder. If it's what you want then keep growing it! It's your face not theirs. If YOU'RE not satisfied with it then you can shave it off. But don't do it for anyone else. It's one of the biggest factors in my honest opinion for any FTM to pass 100% of the time as male.

Here's a timeline of my facial hair for you. Since I live in 2015 and document practically every part of my facial hair growth but never seem to post a lot of it. (There's just too much).

3 months on Testosterone
Barely noticeable. Is there anything there??? The answer is probably: no.

Fast forward to December and what do we have??? 8 months on Testosterone!!!
You can see it if you squint. It's so light. So light i probably cried myself to sleep every night or something???

Whoa!!! Let's super fast forward!!! Let's go to this june!! 14 months now.
Just about a month after shaving completely.
The gods are good. I have a chinstrap without the need of flash. This is when I stopped shaving completely.

How do we look now? 18 months on testosterone?
How's that facial hair doing Rengar? It's fantastic thank you. I don't even need flash anymore and you can see it from a distance thanks.

What a long strange trip it's been! Facial hair plus a good 28 pound weight loss (I went through a break up :^/ dont try it at home kids).

Now let's be honest. I used to shave my cheeks. The last time I shaved my cheeks was August 2nd and I've been growing them out since then. If you're serious about wanting facial hair and maintaining a beard then I'd definitely check out Jefffsbeardboard. They've got a ton of info on products such as minoxidil (be careful) and a lot of growing tips!

Good luck and happy bearding!
(Sorry for all the pictures of me.)
I've found you, Beast!

I've been on what is considered low starting dose for 2.5 months-but am already in the male range w low estrogen. I have to shave my entire chin daily or will have noticeable stubble. More and more hairs are  popping up, so every case,  every face is unique to the effects of T. Also genetics...

^ I'm hoping for results like that!!!

Thanks,  Rengar, for the photo timeline. Very helpful!

I'm at about a week and a half, and just the other day decided to trim my hair with clippers (hadn't done so in about a month). When I trimmed around my ears, I noticed I have sideburns starting to grow in! I did Natural Transition to some degree for about 9 months, so I think that's the culprit rather than the T. The hairs are faint, but luckily I have crazy genetics for dark hair, so they're at least black peach fuzz hairs. It's still kinda sparse (huge difference between my hairline and my few sideburn hairs) but it's progress! Just knowing that I made some kind of progress on NT gives me hope that actual T will give me some decent results.

I've always had black peach fuzz on my cheeks/under my chin, but the sideburns are definitely new and slightly noticeable from a distance. Can't wait to see what's happened by the 3 month mark.

I want a beautiful beard, so I'm hoping when I hit my one year I look like some kind of beast. :)
(Unfortunately, I have a LOT of hair EVERYWHERE already, so I'm also hoping to not grow too much more anywhere else...with my genetics, my body is probably doomed lol)

Thank you guys for resurrecting this. Rengar's beard pics just gave me hope, and I'm checking out that recommendation. I've got awesome side burns and under chin hair. There's really light hair along the rest of what would be a chin strap, and some outliers on my neck.

Hopefully I'll be a rugged mountain man in a few months.
