I had two ancestors who was at that first thanksgiving,William Brewster and Miles Standish..William Brewster funded the mayflower voyage with the aid of Miles Standish when they fled Europe.That's on my mom's side,my dad was Cherokee,Choctaw and Irish,we do have two famous ancestor on his side,Frank and Jesse James and Robert E.Lee.

I will be heading to the Chicago area to spend Thanksgiving with my girlfriend and her family. Hopefully the day after I will be able to meet up with one of the lovely ladies from this site and have some lunch before heading back to LA.

I know.  I've spent a day or two there over the last 5 years.   

I'm not going home for Thanksgiving but I am for Christmas and I'm pretty excited/nervous. I'll have been on HRT for about 4 months, hopefully long enough for them to notice that I look physically different. This will only be the second time seeing my family since transition. The last time I saw them it was only for a few days and I wore pretty much only androgyous outfits. But this Christmas I am going to bring dresses and bras and jewelry and do my makeup and try to look as pretty and feminine as possible such that they can finally see me as the woman I am. Hopefully this female-presentation will convince them to *finally* call me Rachel and use female pronouns.
