Martine A.

Hi.

So far I had limited success with probing and practicing stuff on my own. I would like to get coaching from someone who is professionally working with transwomen. I hope to speed up learning how-toes and define routines that I need to follow and improve (with time) to get to the voice I want.

I am taking recommendations for a native English speaking person who offers Skype video sessions. Or offers.

I shall have a 5-10 min. interview with a prospective coach. Alternatively, taking free/discounted first sessions as well!

Thanks

You probably already have Kathy Perez http://www.exceptionalvoice.com/home/voice-feminization/ on the list? She is the only one I am aware of, but I have not looked much into Skype sessions in english and rather try to get face to face sessions in German ;)

Some of them here cannot do skype sessions to out of state or International clients due to state regulations. But Kathe Perez is a good one.

You might ask here:

Skype

Individual and group sessions in some cases

and here is more:

The first link is Christie Block who cannot do Skype sessions with out of state clients due to state regulation. Only if you're in NY state she can do that.

Why would she not be free to counsel anybody from overseas ?
There is no certificate or anything involved.
Its a private session.

Speech language pathologists are licensed by the state and their license is not recognized outside of the state. So it is state regulation. They need certain degrees and certifications and to take an exam.

This is how they are licensed.

They cannot just give you a voice lesson. They have to evaluate you first to make sure your vocal health is in good order.

But if you want, go ahead and ask her. Maybe the rules are different if you're outside the country but she told me that she cannot do skype sessions unless I am in NY State.

This is what she said:

"If you are not located in NYC but are in NY state, you may consider Skype sessions
(outside the state is not allowed due to licensure for speech pathologists), or
if you are not located in NYC, you may choose to do what others have done:
visit NYC for 3-7 days to do a number of intensive sessions in a row with me to get going. "

I haven't contacted her, but there is a voice therapist in Australia offering Skype lessons: http://www.vocal-key.com/transgender-voice/.

Hi all

I am still allocating budget for this particular purpose, so it will take a little more time until I investigated all of the above. I want to be ready to start as soon as I find a match and to be able to drive it until finish. So it will take a little longer.

Do they have aussie accent? It is one of those I struggle with as a non native speaker. ;D Beyond point of wanting to deal with it on the top of all.
