In 2004 and again in 2006, when Republicans dominated both houses of Congress, Lott was a key Senate sponsor of the proposed amendment to the Constitution to ban same-sex marriage.

Both efforts failed, but not before Lott in Senate speeches linked homosexuality to bestiality, incest and polygamy.

The sad part about Senator Lott's departure is that he is going through the revolving (or revolting???) door, from being a Senator to being a lobbyist where he can spread his hate with no restrictions.  His new position is the moral equivalent of a "dirty bomb."

Wing Walker
