How long in advance do I have to schedule for FFS? What are the backlog times with popular surgeons? I'm looking at FT or Dr Zukowski.

I have to plan this around work basically. 2016 is going to be a bit busy and I don't want to schedule something only to have it in November when I can't take off work.

When I scheduled with FT they were scheduling about 4/5 months out.

I had my ffs planned with Dr Bart (Belgium) in November 2014 or so, for a date in March 2015, and he proposed me something even earlier, but I choosed this particular date myself, for my own convinience..

Good to know. I have to plan around the November election, basically. I want to see if I can do something this summer coming up. I'm seeing encouraging results and I figure that FFS will help me with some issues I've been having, namely profile view. I don't think I need that much, maybe forehead, chin, and probably a rhinoplasty although my nose isn't really that bad and seems to match up with people of my ethnicity.

Would you need some work of the orbital rims too ?

Yes, forehead, orbital rims, chin and maybe rhinoplasty. But I am no expert at all so I would of course do a consult first and see exactly what is needed. But that is my purely amateur opinion based on what I read online.

How would you know that a surgeon is not trying to oversell or undersell you, if you do a consult without knowing exactly what you need and don't need? Blindly trusting a surgeon and their opinion turned out not so fun for way too many FFS patients. In the end it's knowing what you need what will help you to choose the right surgeon for you (the one who shares exactly the same idea of what should be done). Approach FFS smart.. it kind of is a big deal

Hey Kate, have you looked into http://www.virtualffs.co.uk/ ?  I plan on using the service myself after about a year on HRT but I'm not sure I can wait that long

Right. I've been doing my research and plan on getting multiple opinions.

Here's what I will do. I will post some pics here when I can take proper ones (give me a couple days to set up my proper camera) and I'll throw it out to you ladies.

I have been reading virtualFFS extensively and I'll get her opinion as well. She seems to know her stuff.

Hi Kate,

Alexandra Hamer who runs Virtual FFS has been doing this for more than 10 years now and is brilliant.

She also accompanies Facial Team when they visit various countries to see new and existing patients.

I am having my forehead properly reconstructed again next Spring with Facial Team in Marbella, Spain.

Having seen many of their post-op patients at their last two visits to London, I am totally confident in their skills.
