Hi everyone, I am currently looking into and get started on my track to scs. Right now I am looking at Dr. Leis at The Transgender Center in PA. I am currently looking for feedback on the Doctor, Center, and overall care. Thank you :)

From the dudely side of the fence, I have not heard good things about Dr. Leis. Most of the FTM groups I'm a part of actively encourage avoiding him. He has apparently made transphobic remarks to patients and has said some really backward things in presentations. I'd be happy to go look back and send you screenshots of those conversations if you'd like.

If you're looking in the PA area, Dr. McGinn is well regarded and trans herself. Dr. Leis taught her, so I'd imagine aesthetically the results are very similar.

He was at SCC (Southern Comfort) and seemed to have made a point of being prominently mentioned/listed, but after Googling him --

he was definitely NOT an option. Every review I read basically mentioned that he was rude, thought everyone should be supermodel thin, and in some cases made transphobic comments. There are so many more options out there to risk a bad experience.

Interestingly enough, I previously (a couple of months ago) sent e-mails to both Dr. Leis and Dr. McGinn (as well as to several other doctors) inquiring about having them perform an orchiectomy on me and Dr. Leis gave me a conditional Yes (as in, Yes if I will get a therapist letter beforehand) while Dr. McGinn appears to have given me a generic "We follow the WPATH standards in regards to orchiectomies" reply. Of course, I myself am an aspiring eunuch rather than a binary transgender person, but I just felt like sharing this here considering that both of these doctors were already mentioned here. :)
