I have been struggling for around 30 years to figure everything out.
Relationships gone bad, friendships fell apart, and more.

I know who I am but I guess what i'm asking, is for help to completely come to the realization that it doesn't matter what others think, it matters who you are and what you want to do.

So basically I'm all in jumbles right now, if there is someone out there that can help me.

You will find a lot of us have searched for the same thing for a long time.....I'm 57 and only now starting transition but since making my decision I've felt wonderful. Self acceptance is the key and I think most of us will struggle without that. It's what kept me in the closet for all those years. I felt like I had been suffocating all my life trying to fill my male role and when I finally accepted that I was a transwoman it felt like I could breathe again....

Welcome to Susan's Place. You have found the most difficult part of the transition and that is getting past to point where you worry about others and finally decide you need to do this for yourself. In my case, I had two simple options, transition or take my life. For others the decision may not be as clear cut but it might help you to know after the transition I found true happiness. Yes there are the normal problems in life but I can walk out side and have a smile on my face because it's just a nice day. You are entitled to that type of happiness and I will do anything I can to help you find it. Feel free to ask me any questions you might have on this thread and I will do my best to answer them. You may also explore the other parts of the site that interest you.

I have been searching now for over an hour for gender therapists/counselors, does anyone have any recomendations? I would like to start HRT soon if possible and I want to see the therapist before hand.

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

Whereabouts are you? Someone might know some therapists in your area.

I'm in Central Arizona
I founda list of therapists at https://therapists.psychologytoday.com/rms/prof_search.php

I hope the link works and helps others with the same search.

I am located in the Phoenix area and a couple of years ago I located several in the Phoenix area. I don't have need of one, I was just curious because when I needed one about 40 years ago there was no help in the area. If that fails to pan out, let me know by posting to this thread and I will see what I can find.

Hi Misty and welcome to the family!

You need to step back, take a deep breath, then ask yourself what you want to do.  The truth is the truth, nd many of us have spent various portions of our lives trying to outsmart it.  You have taken a big step by joining us and while the further steps do not get any easier per se, you have to take one before the other.

Seeing a licensed therapist that at least has some experience dealing with transgender men or women is the next big step.  Just remember that you know who you are, what you truly feel, and what you want; no time like the present to pursue it.

Also remember that you'll have to see a licensed therapist for at least a little while before being cleared to begin HRT.  Much goes into not only qualifying (for lack of a better term) but also to actually begin.  Make sure that your doctor follows WPATH guidelines; HRT is very serious business and you have to be sure that you don't wind up with a quack and get yourself hurt; too much can go wrong if you're not medically monitored.

Be safe, hun  :-)

Marlo

Thank you ladies you have all been a great help. I am now realizing the steps I need to take. These are frustrating times right now, and I know i need to take this one step at a time. Soon i will become the woman I am inside. As I just need guidance on what steps there is available. but that also comes in steps.
