I like just using lashes and pencil I've never used eye shadow. I haven't noticed to many girls around my neighborhood that use it. I was just wonder how many out there still shadow their eye lids.

Every single day! Women around here around my age late twenties still use it. Haven't noticed it on older women however. I've pretty much found what I liked an almost smokey eye look and have stuck with it for the past month.

I guess it's just a curious sort of thing . I live across the street from a major University and l'm the only senior in my apartment building , but I really don't notice anyone young or old wearing it. Maybe it's regional. Of course everyone around here is 18-26.

I do use it, but very lightly. I do see many women wear it here. Some of it is lighter in color with a little glitter for women in their 20's and 30's.

I think I'm going to turn this into my project, I live in a downtown area next to a Big Ten University and an upper middle class economic area. I will report back after some investigation.

It is the only eye makeup I use! I don't use it very often but something about it is fun. Actually it is the only makeup I use. Plenty of the women I know, art and music weirdos in their 30's and 40's use it. They all use the other stuff too. I don't get mascara though. My lashes have gotten so much longer and fuller on hrt and still a lovely ginger blond. I have a great shade of shadow that is like a metallic copper/umber. A bit of that on my lids and a touch under my eye really makes the old blues pop. Or I have some pale pinks that are great for when my lids look a bit veiny.

Just have to remember not to touch them!

every day, when your forced to wear a hat, coat and apron at work any little thing like eye shadow and lipstick that screams WOMAN is good to avoid misgendering.

I like to wear natural shimmery eye-shadow from Wet N Wild called walking on eggshells:

When I am going out for the evening I will do the brown outer edge but otherwise I will just do the eyelid for a more natural look.

Yep I do.

Average day at work it's just a bit in the crease and nude shadow on the lids with eyeliner and mascara and eyebrows done....but when I want to really look good, it's all smokey eye

Every single time. Right after I'm done with my blush and highlihter, right before eyeliner and Mascera.

Having done a little business travel around the US, I have to say it is regional. Boston-Wash corridor more so then West coast. Big cities more so then out in the sticks. Middle aged (?) more so then the 12-20 and 40+ crowd (perhaps my wife's rationale... No sense putting paint on a wrinkled canvas?). Also job/work situation and it's expectations/dress code/peer pressures. So many factors there Max (Sorry, couldn't pass up the pun)

I tend to use shadow for reasons similar to Valwen's, an unambiguously female presentation as possible for this six footer. Which generally is my fav girlie-girl. In jeans I tend more towards just a light touch mascara

I like the nude shades from Tartelletes and UD Naked palettes, I avoid too much shimmer on my eyes as it will only make my eyes more hooded so I stick with the mattes :)

Very light application in the morning, at night you can make it more dramatic xo

Nothing ventured nothing gained

I'm all about the eyeshadow and eyeliner to give me lots of emphasis, and tend to keep my lips nude. I love the Charlotte Tilbury Sophisticate eyeshadows. Goes on amazingly, lasts forever, and nice neutral shades that suit everyone

I do if I'm getting all dressed up (I don't wear makeup otherwise). But it can also be a really subtle thing - my wife can put on 3 shades of eyeshadow and still look like she's wearing nothing unless I'm *really* close, like kissing close. ;)

I do, but I tend to like to keep it toned down and more natural. Hugs
