Hey guys so I just wanted to let you guys know about this LITERALLY AMAZING app I found for adding facial hair to your pics.  It's called the Phillips Grooming App.  It's on both the App Store and Google play.

There are 22 options for facial hair.  However IMO basically only #9 "Scruffy Beard" is realistic; but boy is it realistic!! Seriously, it looks awesome!  Even on a pre-T/early T face it looks realistic. If you look SUPER young like 10-12 then it won't be as convincing; but even if you look 14ish it looks VERY convincing.  The added scruff just kinda ages you.

The rest of the facial hair options, very hipster trendy, are kinda cool but look fake to me IMO.  The only exception is #10 the short beard.  In regards to #10 I found it only realistic when I uploaded a pic of a male celebrity who had a masculine face.  It just looks fake with a younger smaller featured guy IMO.

HOW THE APP WORKS -  -

You can use the front facing camera, regular camera and also upload any photo you want as long as it's face forward.  No side profiles or really diagonal shots.

When you have your pic you make sure the face is inside the dotted oval.  Now it says to "Resize and align your face to fit in the oval" but I have found that you DON'T need to resize the pic so the whole face and only the face is in the oval.  When you do that it really zooms in on the pic and you can loose a lot of background.

Once you have your pic in the app chances are it won't be set up perfectly even if you put your face in the oval "perfectly". So you'll have to adjust it. Just press the button that looks like a pen. In there you can change the color and also where the facial hair is placed by clicking the paint pallet and arrows respectively.

PRO TIP - - You make yourself look like you have more or less scruff by changing the color.  The lightest brown looks like stubble to me and the darkest brown/black looks like heavier facial hair.

When changing the alignment of the facial hair you'll see five circles on the dots on your jaw line and three on your mouth one on your nose.  The two on the corners of your mouth should be placed right on the corner and the other one on your mouth should be right below your bottom lip in the center.  The one on your nose should be just right below the nose.

PRO TIP - - If you put the dotted lines on your jaw line just a TEENY bit outside of your jaw line all the way around, but especially on the chin, you will make a kind of shadow that makes your face more angular and also it looks more realistic that way as well.

TO MAKE THE PICS EVEN MORE REALISTIC  - -
After you've saved your pic take it and put it into a photo filter app.  I recommend VSCO because it has many awesome filters that are free and IMO all of the paid ones are worth it as well.  Then add a filter to your pic.  I guess when you add the filter it "mattes" everything together, blends it together and that takes the realism to a whole new level!  Seriously it looks IMO perfectly realistic.

So yeah have fun with it guys! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!!

TRIGGER WARNING -
Being totally honest here when I first saw my pic with the facial hair it actually made me pretty dysphoric for about a half hour because I can't grow facial hair like that yet.  It went away and now I'm in love with this app!

But just wanted to give you guys a heads up about that.
