"CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Francois Ozon was compared to Rainer Werner Fassbinder when he hit the international film world in the late 1990s.

The comparisons were apt. Ozon's films explore bisexuality, despair, alienation and the sexual politics that were recurring themes in the German master's films."
