what are 'yound trans'?

Its supposed to be young...
just a misspelling in the title...
maybe a moderator could set it right...

Being in the UK you might have a look at the mermaids, its a group specifically for transgender youth:
http://mermaidsuk.org.uk
They even offer assistance... and there are other young transgender people there...

Public health systems are like the bus systems. slow, underfunded,  lots of people use them, and you never know when your next bus/appointment might be. Atleast we're in it!

I am 16 and on blockers since June :).
It is very long in France too, I hope to be able to take my hormones on April..
I am very glad it is our Sécurité Sociale (Health service) which pay all of it, I am really surprised it is completly different in the USA, it is kind of sad :/
Finally came out in my family since the 21th December 2014!

I might be kind of late to the discussion, but I'm 13 and trans. Everyone says that it's just hormones and tumblr that's "making" me trans but I've learned to deal with it. :-\

Oh, Colorado is also a good place to go to. There aren't a lot of religious people there and theres a lot of laws that protect trans and gay individuals. :) i live there.

Must be nice to stay there. I'm 16 in Alabama and struggling, Alabama, you could say is the exact opposite.

Well they have a system where everything is paid for but its necessary to have docs given permission .
it might take some time.

In the us there is informed consent for adults...
and there might be programs or sliding scales for people with lower income.
It might be a good idea to ask with plannedparenthood, lgbt centers or endos/clinics.

I'm 17, will be 18 in May. I will start testosterone shortly thereafter, if I can afford it. I already have an appointment with an endocrinologist in June.
Started testosterone on June 2nd 2016
Top surgery consultation on June 17th 2016
Top surgery projected for Summer of 2017 with Dr. Sassani

Literally a crazy dog man. 6 dogs and counting, my little herding dog pack.

Well you have to be at the Tavistock because you're under 18 and they are the only GIC for under 18s, and then you have 4+ish appointments before you get referred to an endocrinologist then the endorsed has to look at your stuff and in a few appointments you'll be on blockers.
