I'm new to this website and am very glad to have found it. To be honest I'm a little confused about what category I fit in, or whether I even belong here. Here's my story...

About 5 years ago I got the urge to crossdress after having a very feminizing experience, the nature of which I guess isn't really an appropriate topic for this board. I began experimenting with dressing up in panties and pantyhose so I guess that qualified me as a "fetish crossdresser." However I also went "all the way" sometimes and put on everything from lipstick and jewelry to a bra, panties and a slip. I joined a panty-wearers message board and became a somewhat regular contributor. My desire to "dress up" remained pretty much the same for several years, partly because I was married and had limited options.

My wife and I split up last summer and my interest in crossdressing increased. I got involved in an internet relationship with another panty wearer and it evolved into a sub/dom relationship (I was the sub) where he made daily requests (demands) on me and I tried to comply. He told me to buy high heels and other accessories which I did and this expanded my cross dressing possibilities. I also bought a wig and my first bra, a VS A-cup black lace bra which fits wonderfully. Nothing ever came of the internet relationship and I ended it.

But I now regularly dress up in wig, bra, high heels as well as the usual panties and pantyhose. I've never gone out completely en femme, but I regularly go out wearing matching panties and pantyhose under my clothes and if I'm alone a bra under my shirt or sweater. As I write this I'm sitting here wearing bra, falsies, chemise (?), panties, pantyhose and high heels. I'd love to get together with others with similar interests but I've emailed a local transgender group and gotten no response. It may be that they consider me a fetishist rather than a full-blown cross dresser, but I'd be glad to don a skirt and blouse for their get-togethers.

I'd appreciate any feedback from any of you who are more experienced in this than I am, and who can help me understand exactly where I fit in, if in fact I do. In any case, thank you for listening...

There is a tremendous amount of information for you to research found here in the forums and of course in our Wiki.  Please take the time to acquaint yourself with the site.

You will find that the members here are very friendly, who are only too willing to help and advise, each in their own unique way.  Some of us are blunt and to the point, while others use a more subtle approach   However, we are all here for the same reason.  Take part where you can, don't be afraid to ask questions and post your point of view on topics that interest you, it's what Susan's is all about.

There are a lot of neat people that come and post her at Susan's. Ther are many also that hang out in the chats as well. We'll probably come acrossed each other there as I'm in there too.

My significant other is Leah. She is in transition Male to Female. We hang out here and almost no where else on the net anymore. Everyone here is very nice and full of great helps and tips.

Ihave been a crossdresser for almost fourty years and at times I'veexperienced that which you describe. These days however I believe that I am more in touch with my feminine side and although I crossdress it's not so much about the clothes as releasing Shelley.

To me one of the great things about crossdressing is that I can define it for myself. My dressing may have all started as a fetish but at this point crossdressing fulfills a deep emotional need, and brings a positive energy into my life.
It looks like you have moved your crossdressing far away from fetish.
Anything that you take great pride in will bring you great joy.  Take pride in your crossdressing.
As far as where you "fit in" well I think you found a niche just your size at Susan's

Welcome    there are other places on the internet - but I reckon Susans is the very best. You can count on support & help & really good advice - thats what I have found

It seems my experience was very similar to yours in that I also had an "experience" in my early teens, I don't know if it was feminizing, or started it all or what - it was so long ago & I have difficulty sorting stuff out in my mind, what exactly came first & when.  It certainly had a, well ,distabilising effect on my life - I wish to God there was a place like Susans back then or somebody I could have safely discussed things with.
I am a secret sort of cross dresser  - I dont consider that as a fetish,  its the best I can come up with.  Shelley said it exactly, its not about clothes or excitement as much as releasing yourself

Not to ramble on but I neglected to mention one rather crucial thing in my willingness to transform myself...in November I began shaving my body. It started with my legs, because the alternative looked so ridiculous in pantyhose. Then i decided an unshaved abdomen looked ridiculous, especially in sheer to waist pantyhose, then one night I got carried away and shaved my chest. I keep everything shaved now (or Naired), including my lower back and buttocks. I love the look and feel although I confess it can seem like a lot of work at times. My shaved legs make me feel more feminine of course whereas my shaved chest makes me feel younger (and looks much better if I'm wearing a bra!)...

For a longer lasting solution try waxing those areas.  I'm not sure if they are available in your locale but you might try Veet Wax Strips.  For other solutions for hair removal check out the Wiki here.
