Is fast breast development normal?

I've been on my T blockers for about a month and a half, but on E and Prometrium for 10 days now... Last night I noticed I have definite buds, and the nipples have changed completely.  I don't know who was shocked more, my wife or myself.  Is this normal?  Cause I'm half dose, and I'm curious when I get full dose starting in 3 weeks is it going to rocket forward then?

Any personal experiences are welcome, this was definitely a welcome Xmas gift :D

It can happen. It took me close two months to start developing breast buds, maybe even a bit longer than that. It differs for everyone. Some are fast and some are slow. Different variables including genetics come in to play. Hugs

I can only speak for myself. I've been on HRT (blockers and hormones) for 9.5 months. The first three were half dose on hormones. I now fill in an A cup. My chest is wider than I'd like so getting a bra that fits is difficult, but I make due. I wasn't expecting such a quick development either as I'd heard a lot of trans women have slow growth and sometimes only fill an A cup after a few years on HRT. I may simply be genetically predisposed to the effects of estradiol and progesterone. At any rate it's definitely a YMMV thing. Some develop early on, while others are late bloomers.

Something i posted in another thread earlier this week

I am close to 3 month on HRT at 24 years old

Starting point: No breast, no moobs, 1.3 inch areola . I was very muscular before transition ( 178 lbs 5% bf) and i had 42 inch chest( last may) that i reduced to 36 inch including new breast tissues ( it increased with new tissues)

After 5 days :
My nipples were burning and errect at the gym after intensive cardio activity. This happened everytime i did exercice until the pain/sensibility was always present even without training.

After 17 days: I had terrible sensibility and soreness. This time it was the complete breast( complete pectoral muscle) . It was like having some electricity shock going from my nipples to armpit.  Something hard started to form under my nipples (i will learn after that those are breast buds)

Up to 40 day:
Those breast buds kept taking size until it reached about 2 inch or a little more diameter. The soreness went away but nipples stayed very sensible

Until 2 month and 3 week:  I thought nothing was happening, i was wrong. One day i squeezed my breast together and noticed that my pectoral muscles had converted into breast tissues forming a cleavage.

(note: i have an album of breast development with timeline but i am not allowed to post it .)

Here is a censured picture of current breast development that isnt against forums rules.

My areola expended to 2 inch diameter and my breast looked rounder. I went buying my first 36A pushup bra

Now at 3 month:
I am currently having a new wave of growth since a couple day. I gained close to 1 inch chest size this week, now filling the A cup , i am expecting a lot of changes for the next month.

I am 36A currently

I hope this can help you.  Remember that breast is the most YMMV development of HRT

I'm not sure about normal, but I definitely had breast buds, bouncing, and tenderness on day 5.  I don't think I ended up bigger than I would have otherwise, but I did get there *faster,* so that's a warning to be prepared. :) I was 42C by 3 months.

(I did have some gynecomastia to start, probably about an A cup pre-HRT.)

I don't think it's common but I wouldn't say it's not normal, and I definitely don't think it's anything to worry about, you might be one of the really lucky ones! In my experience it seems to start and stop and go through phases, there's really annoying phases when it seems to go backwards and then times when they seem to jump up overnight. It's the old YMMV

I  have been on estradiol low strength for 8 weeks now, my breasts are a complete handful each one and the nipple  is just now developing and slightly sore .

I know everyone reacts differently, but for me personally breast growth comes in fits and starts. I had development fairly quickly then it seemed to stop. After a while the growth will start again. I've been on HRT for almost two years now and every once in a while I will look in the mirror and realize "wow, those are definitely bigger than they were a couple of weeks ago".

It happened fairly quick for me. I'm at about 20 months of HRT and have a full 36-C.

Considering that I'm 5'5, a C cup would be amazing, but I'd be happy with B's even :)

My endo doesn't think it does, but I requested them anyway.  His understanding is their benefits are unproven, and health risks are real.  He sees it as risk with no reward potentially.  I see so many on this board and ->-bleeped-<- stating that although P didn't aid in growth, it did aid in development of proper breast formation.  I figure if I'm going to take my Androcur and estrogen, what's adding one more just in case?  I want to look as feminine as possible and if it helps even a fraction of a percent, it's worth it.

BTW, dyed my hair burgundy last night :)

Naturally occurring micronized-progesterone helps for sure- BUT

It isn't recommended for whatever reason until you have been on HRT for a few years (that was consensus last I knew, but it varies with endo to endo like many subjects- some even avoid it, as above). Mostly it is thought when they do prescribe it, but later on, it is best that way as the E had a chance to develop the breast as much as possible on their own without interference (debatable).

Various reasons for waiting are out there, if you search- mainly due to fear it is androgenic (the micronized is *not*- usually you know if you have it as it is either an IM injection, or it is in a pill form which is (usually) round (as in sphere) and pinkish-peach colored. Sometimes it is cycled, but that's debatable as to effectiveness as well as to say, needed at all to do. It will say "micronized progesterone" or simply "progesterone" usually on the Rx or Rx bottle. (Doses I cannot discuss per forum rules and all).

If you get it, and have an IS condition: it has a higher probability of it being cycled (and prescribed-dependent on condition)- though many who get it do cycle it to mimic nature's flow of CIS women (also debatable if effective/needed/best to do or not).

Hope that helps in regards to P.

Health risks with bio-identical progesterone? Studies have shown it to be quite safe. I think your endo does not realize there is a difference between progestins such as medroxyprogesterone acetate and bio-identical progesterone, those differences being clearly established in many studies throughout the years. I'm sure if you ask him risks, he will bring up studies with progestins. You could ask him and find out. ;)

Also, does he not realize that Androcur is a PROGESTOGEN and that studies have shown it to be significantly more risky than bio-identical progesterone?

Perhaps get a second opinion...

I think cycles aren't natural as progesterone increases in the second phase to prepare for pregnancy and traditionally, women would become pregnant most of the time, progesterone would continue increasing, etc. She would then spend years breastfeeding and subsequently become pregnant. Natural flow is pregnancy followed by breastfeeding followed by pregnancy again with few cycles in a lifetime. Things have just changed due to modernization, birth control pills, etc.

Some believe so many cycles may be one of the reasons why breast cancer has increased so significantly in women.
