Hi guys (or anyone else that wants to contribute!),
Wondering if this is not an unheard of occurrence or if I need to see a doctor ASAP.
This week I sat down, iced my leg for about 10 minutes, then injected. When I got the needle about halfway in, I felt some resistance and then my leg muscle spasmed. It didn't hurt. I tried to insert the needle a little deeper and it spasmed again, so I stopped pressing and just injected where it was.
I usually have some pain the day after, but not beyond general soreness. This week, I had to take some pain killers, use an ice pack, and lay down. I have a really high pain tolerance, so this is unheard of for me. I noticed that it was swollen a little bit, and warm to the touch. It wasn't as bad pain-wise the next day, and the swelling/warmth went away, but the soreness carried on through late Wednesday. Today it doesn't hurt, but I'm noticing that there is a section south of the injection site that feels like a knot. I injected about 4" up the leg, and this is maybe 1" away from my knee.
Did I hit a nerve? Something else? It doesn't hurt, and it has gotten smaller since I first noticed it. Hoping I didn't do any kind of lasting damage.
