Can you please tell me the advantage and disadvantage of this surgery?

Do you get any internal vaginal sensation during sexual intercourse?

There's more that I don't know than I do know... But what I do know is

1) The colon has a lot of nerve endings and can be very sensual
2) I've read colon > vaginal surgery can fail long-term
3) This is not something you should rush into

Take care of yourself!

You could have a look here:

And imo it might make sense to ask some people in the thread via pm ... who know people who had this kind of surgery ...

additionally there are revisions with skin grafts, for example :

sorry for the late reply. things to consider from a person who has the surgery. first go to a surgeon who knows what they are doing. second. the recovery wasnt that bad. the first week bending at the mid section to get out of bed is challenging. I thought i would have a big scar but its really not. oh it does smell like post op flesh the first 2-4 weeks. at least until you start to clean it daily. i notice dilation is a do on occasion thing. it seems you can really accommodate alot of man ;) wink..wink..... but pads/tampons will be your best friend on and off for at least a good 3 months. I agree you should think about this before you do it. Im happy with my results. i didnt get the post op cramps after sex some people talk about or anything else. but it can have a failure rate lie right after the procedure. oh and the being able to have sex whenever without carrying lube is pretty nice

warmbody28. a quick question, you can use tampons after Sigmoid Colon surgery; I know after a penile inversion you can't.

I'd say be careful ... usually its said they dry out the environment.
It might depend on the amount of liquid excreted.

you sure can. I love to use Playtex Sport Unscented Tampons because im very active. I haven't had a problem drying out. but it doesn't stay in long enough for that to happen. when i dont want to wear a pad or panty liner so i can work out or wear a bikini at the beach this is the way i go

hey is anal sex still possible after this cos they cut ur colon right? is double penetration possible too? (anal + vagina)

warmbody28, I can see why you like tampon over pads; i never liked the feel or seeing pads between my legs.  also, you can wear anything and not worry that you have inside.

I haven't had any sort of bowel problems or infections. and the anal thing is a good question? i have never done it but the doctor made it a point to say wait until 3 months post op for that. the double penetration question I have never tried or asked about? so i honestly cant say how that would work? and yes tampons are a good fit for me. I enjoy using them :)

Thanks for all ur info. Im going to dr.burin in june for the sigmoid. I had a few question if u dont mind. Is the tampons for life? is the discharge un knowingly and do u have control down there?

Lara1969

There other methods out there for more deepth and which allows to get very wet (like most CIS girls) when aroused without the necessity to take a part of the colon. As far as I can say the risk is much higher than doing the sigmoid colon surgery.

A lot of my friends went to the doctor im going to...a few has got the colon. One like 15 years ago and the other like 4 yrs ago.my bmi is perfect for the colon surgery. Im very active. I know the pads will be for months but will they be for years? They both gave me there answers i jus wanna hear from others. Will there be leakage unknowingly like after a year? Could i sleep nude without leaving a spill on aisle 9? Lol thanks

(Very likely) Disadvantages:

1) high risk of scar contracture where the colon graft joins the vaginal entrance
2) super tight vagina that still requires dilation/stretching
3) colon tissue can bleed from trauma
4) crampy feeling following intercourse
6) overlubrication of the graft accompanied with smelly discharge
7) onset of IBS symptoms/food intolerance over time.

colovaginoplasty is an old fashioned surgery... With the current techniques, i don't see why anyone would opt for this method nowadays...it's better to leave your intestines where they belong. I regret getting this method to this day, this surgery was just problem after problem speaking from personal experience...Please avoid it and go for the latest... the non-penile inversion technique.
