I am changing my legal ID to female and I need to choose a new name. I had a neutral name for pre-op phase, but now having completed SRS I can finally choose female name. I am trying to decide between Monika and Veronika. But I really can't get out of this dillema. So maybe you can help me, what name do you like more?

One of my daughters has Veronica as a middle name. I like it.

Listen to the Elvis Costello song (written about his grandmother, I believe) and realized that's the kind of girl most of us want to be!

I'd say it aloud and the one that gives you a smile is the right one. My friend named me and I rolled with it. It gave me the biggest smile.

With that being said, I like Veronika. Or Veronica.   I like the V's and I love the longer names. More elegant. You can shorten it to Monika for a nickname. Your nickname is nearly as important as your legal name.

I'm ear to ear smiles when I use my name aloud. It makes me feel good when I hear it. I was named Victoria... but Tori also gets me giddy. So it's 100% about how it makes you feel. Victoria Quinn aka (Harley). So many awesome nicknames when my friends get going. All of them make me smile.

Just an afterthought, I like calligraphy. Have you tried writing then side by side? One will be written more than the other and you'll see the answer for yourself.
