My eyes are filled with tears of joy right now. This morning my niece for whom I haven't seen or spoken to in 8 years accepted my friend request. We chatted for a little bit and has many questions for me, which I'll be happy to answer for her but she had to go to school so later today we'll reconnect and hopefully rebuild our relationship. More good news is my sister also sent me a friend request yesterday and I accepted it.
Just goes to show if you hold fast to your beliefs and stay consistent family just might come back around.

it happened to me last week , my niece reconnected with me after thinking I lost her when I told her I was trans a year ago.

So happy for you <3 that's amazing.  I'm really early in my transition, and most in my family are way too afraid to even entertain what it means for me to be transitioning.  Really wonderful of you two to connect in a meaningful way

That's great news! It's wonderful how much that public awareness, understanding and acceptance of trans folk has improved over the last 8 years.
