A couple of surgeons are recommending this for me based on my photos to smooth out the corners.

I must admit to not fully understanding it. Can someone give me a good primer?

Also any pros and cons?

Basically - cut a chunk of your scalp in front of the hairline out, shift everything forward, and sew it back together again. The trick is of course knowing how much and where to cut!

Usually the same incision is used to do any forehead work if you're doing that.

The downside is you end up with a scar along the hairline, which may be more or less visible depending on healing. If it's a problem you can get a hair transplant later on to cover the scar. Some places (FacialTeam for example) use an incision further back so there's no visible scar, and then they can take a strip of hair out from there and do a hair transplant further forward.

I would hate to have a scar there as I pull my hair back often. Thanks. I will have to talk to the surgeons and ask about it.

As previously stated, traditional hairline advance done during FFS requires a hairline incision.  If you go with coronal incision then hair transplants can be used to lower the hairline.

Facial Team does hair transplants from the strip of scalp removed during coronal incision.  I had FUE hair transplants done while I was in Buenos Aires, 3 weeks after FFS surgery.  The back of your head is shaved and hair follicles are removed individually from the shaved area.  Hair transplants are very reasonable in BA.
