Bobbie

I'm finally going out, presenting fully as a woman, and not a androgynous "man in a wig" (after 6 months HRT and electrolysis)
And I think I'm passing but I'm not sure, I haven't seem anyone staring or any wide eyes, even when I hand over my credit card with my male name I haven't seen a cashier bat an eye. Is this Passing as a Woman or being Accepted as a Trans Woman, and should I even care. I don't care as that much if I'm outing myself now in these safe environments I'm going to, if they know I'm trans and are just blasé about it thats a reminder of what great times we are living in.
Its really helping my confidence but I'm afraid of becoming too confident, I need to have a reasonable understanding of what I can and can't do as a woman now.

For so much of my life I'd expected the Villagers to come chasing me with pitch forks and torches, but they arn't and its ALMOST disappointing (sarcasm) Did the Bride of Frankenstien just walk down to the Village, only to find the friendly Villagers had been waiting for her all along, showing that the mirror she's been using is broken, and she's really a fair maiden?

Maybe a combination of both. My non-passing friends report that they almost never have problems. Most people are accepting of trans people, and most of those who aren't are polite enough not to let it show. Short of mind reading, there is no way to know.

Good indicators are whether women smile at you. If you find a lot of women are smiling warmly at you almost as a reflex, you are probably passing to them.
Have you read my short story The Eve of Triumph?
