Hi all,
I'm so excited and scared at the same time. After 6 sessions of Laser last year I finally am going to have my first Electro tomorrow.
My Electrologist (I'll call her Doc) wants to star with only a 15 min session to see how I handle and or my skin reacts ect.
I'm fine with that. She also knows I am transgender and gave me a cheaper rate than her normal prices for Non-Transgender clients. How cool is that? Still expensive but I get to save a little hehe.

I read that Electro is worse than Laser pain and I also hear that it's way less than Laser pain.
When I got Laser done, I was squirming in my seat it was so painful..WITH numbing cream on.  :'(

Well, wish me luck.

Jess

Hi all,

Well, I'm home. Electro went well. Was only a 15 min session and I must say it was less painful than Laser was. The current felt like a bee sting but there were occasional hairs that didnt want to come out so they tended to be more painful.

Overall I am very happy starting this.

Now, to start going regularly for the next Year or so and see how it all pans out.

She even does Genital Electro if I ever need to prior to GCS. That is a Plus! :)

Great news.  Hopefully you will be to the point you can get complete clearings each time you go.

I'm finally getting to that point but it still requires a marathon session to get it cleared.  I've had about 86 hours on my face and 10 hours south of the border.  It is a time consuming process but so necessary.  I'm going in for another marathon session this weekend.  The part I hate is having to grow the hairs out for 3 days prior to going for treatment.  Ughhhh I hate being the bearded lady for those days.

Yes indeed, My Doc needs 2 days of growth but she is fast too. She uses Thermolysis and does like 1 hair per 4 secs. hehe.
I havn't scheduled my next one but I think I will start the Hourly.

How often should I go? I'm thinking 1 hour per week to let the healing take place in the area.

This is all out of pocket and I'm not working atm. Thank goodness for Retirement Pay from the Military..It helps. But it's like a Car payment all over again for the next 1-2 yrs at least.

Electro is strange for me. Some sessions are not painful and some are excruciating painful. Yesterday's was painful and the prior one was not so much. Laser just felt like bee stings and it wasn't too bad ever. I'm 10 hours into electro and I'm starting to see a difference. I do use the high powered numbing cream and take a handful of Advil each time.

I'm supposed to be having a marathon session today but the power just went out and now we are waiting to see why it went out and when it will be back on.
