Will low level HRT limit best outcome?

So I am slowly going crazy. I thought I had a good handle on the dysphoria (mtf) thing but I am very depressed and moody and it's only getting worse as the days and months roll on waiting for the NHS to slot me in.

I have read so many say how HRT gives some mental relief. The wait for public funded HRT is about a year off. I have developed my transition time line around that but am unsure if I can wait.

My time line is also about work, visa and a whole lot of other issues as well. So I can not bring transition forward at this stage.

My question... If I were to go on low dose HRT would that help my brain any while having very slight outward physics changes?

Second question and more importantly will low dose followed by recommended transition dose a year later have the same overall effect of transition dosages from one?  Does that make sense? I do not want my strategy to have a negative outcome in terms of brest development and fat distribution.

Thanks

Debs.
