Washington State's Law & Justice Committee Passes "Genital Check" Bill

"The Washington State Senate's Law & Justice committee just passed Senate Bill 6548, which has to do with use of gender-segregated facilities. In other words: it's a potty law, and its fourth point at the bottom of the bill is perhaps most pertinent to transgender people in that it allows private or public entities to bar trans people from using the bathroom matching their gender identity. This effectively forces trans people to use the bathroom that matches their genitalia (if they are pre-operative, non-operative, or otherwise)."

This really is silly.

I saw today that some Supreme court ruled that it was OK for Americans to buy assault weapons because it was enshrined in the freedom of USA citizens.

But you can't go for a pee!

I can see it know, a person running around with an AK47 needs the loo and are stopped at the door 'Sorry Sir/Ms, can I have a look at your genitals please'.

With my apologies and with no insult to your National Anthem meant.

Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation!
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust":
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
As long as you don't need a pee.

Love is not obedience, conformity, or submission. It is a counterfeit love that is contingent upon authority, punishment, or reward. True love is respect and admiration, compassion and kindness, freely given by a healthy, unafraid human being....  - Dan Barker

I am deeply shamed by my birthstate.  I thought we were better than that.

So we stand up. We write letters, we campaign, we argue.

We stand for our rights as human beings.

Trans rights are human rights.

Push.

Sadly it all makes sense. Socialism entered american politics a little over a hundred years ago. Before that it was none of the governments business what you did as long as you paid your taxes and didn't cause to much trouble. We now have the right wanting to have us live a moral life even thought our politicians on both sides are pretty immoral. The left wants to ban our guns so we can't defend ourselves from an out of control government. So far, the government has made sure that AK47 isn't full auto. Everybody gets upset when their political party is criticized and neither party obeys the constitution. It's why I wish there was an option to vote for "none of the above" and end the insanity because neither side is really worth the time it takes to vote for them.
