I haven't started my transition, hormones, or anything but thinking to the future, what is possible, what isn't etc. Being in a male body with high testosterone, has wrecked my hair. I have no hair to speak of, except in the one places I don't want it, my face and body :|. I don't expect HRT to give me back my hair, though I so desperately would like that, I know it won't.

Has anyone done FFS (such as with the facial team) completely bald? :| I'm guessing during surgeries you have to take off your wig, or scarf right?

any other thoughts, or realities I should be real about?

I haven't done anything like FFS but you will want to take off any head covering because there will be blood involved and it may get on anything covering your head. The surgeons understand that some of the people they treat have hair issue so you shouldn't worry about it. After the surgery you will be bundled up in compression bandages so very little skin will show until the bandages are removed.

As for regrowth, that is luck of the draw. You won't really know until you try it.

Hi,

I too am pretty bald and have to wear a wig, recently I had a consultation face to face with Dr. El Capitan from the Facial Team in Florida, and after removing my wig, he indicated that hair transplants would not be a good solution due to my advance stage of losing my hair, but that would not prevent having FFS,  by the way he is a VERY pleasant person and we spoke of some common experiences in our lives.

When I have FFS i will have to continue wearing wigs...

Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions..

I know a trans woman who had ffs and is bald on top; she had a good outcome, but decided to stop wearing wigs after her surgery, and because of that doesn't look as good as she would if she did wear a hairpiece. It's kind of puzzling to me, but it's her choice to make.

It might work to your advantage. How? Well, one of my friends is bald on top and wears a hair weave.  It looks great actually.  She had a consult with Facial Team, and they said they had NO idea she had a wig on!  On top of that, they said that instead of making the incision where they usually do at the top of the hairline and around, they could actually make an incision above the area by a few inches, and then that way, once it healed she could place the wig over the scar therefore making it "invisible" and very natural.

I wish you luck in your transition and hope you find the happiness you deserve.

Hello

I believe it is hard but these doctors are professionals and usually sweet individuals , at least the one i met . So it is just like any surgery they made
Also there are solutions , maybe grt and hair transplants , and before then there are great wigs . There was a cis girl here , she had alopecia since ever and she wears a wig , it is so natural and beautiful .
