This would not be for the faint of heart to try because it does hurt alot. I have been using an Emjoi epilator for a while now and remember how at first it hurt ALOT when I cleared my underarms with it. After that it never did hurt as much and took only three seconds to clean up every two or three weeks. I wondered if the skin on my neck would be the same so SLOWLY gathering three or four strands of hair to pluck and keeping the skin tight-it worked in about an hour and a half and I got no bruising or dark places. That was two and a half weeks ago and this morning I cleared what little was there in seconds with no pain.

Someday I might get electro but no, not today. So this is my attempt to make things easier for me. I keep things simple and basic-at least most of the time. I can't recommend this for you to do, but it seems to work for me somehow. Next thing is to get over the lower jaw and begin the face to see if it will react the same way. Please note that I approach everything I haven't done before cautiously and progress slowly.

At the moment, my life is stable and I am comfortable as I can be while not transitioning further. I focus on what I can do with what I have already and for now it's enough.

I made significant progress up my jaw today. Going very slowly and keeping the skin tight seems to be working well. I have not gotten near the lips and will think about that another day as this area is very sensitive. I went ahead and cleared my underarms while I was at it and the pain is easily manageable-but my tolerance for pain is high so this might not be the way for you to go.

I soaped my neck well during my bath tonight and quik shaved it even though I couldn't see anything growing there. My skin is soft as a baby's rear end and I could not be happier. Tomorrow or the next day I will finish up the face and will post back in with results. I certainly hope my face turns out as soft and smooth as my neck and underarms.

I was waylaid at the hairdresser's last week. My length is all gone in a boy cut. While I have found a way to make it look somewhat androgenous, so much for my bob cut.
I remember when I started taking meds I wanted to look feminine right then and it did not happen like that. After I stopped taking anything to make my body change I looked in the mirror one day and said 'WOW, I can't make my hair not look feminine'. That was another defining moment for me.

Hello there again, I made significant progress at thinning the hair on my face tonight. By pulling three or four at a time then moving constantly it doesn't hurt too bad overall. I stop every couple of minutes just to not overdo it and put some repairing lotion on it.

OMG, there is so much hair there. I have around 3 hours in the session and have over half of my facial hair gone on the face-it's already gone everywhere else like my neck and around the jaw. I am saving the 'best' for last-mustache area close to the lips and nose. My skin is VERY sensitive there and I expect a few tears going in.

Anyway, my skin feels great. Yes this is working for me on a very tight budget. Hopefully it won't come back as thick ever again and I can just give it a quik run over every so often with my emjoi and a sharp razor.

I have been watching a girl on youtube giving makeup tips and showing several things I'll need. These things are not cheap-at least not the good ones. I already have three decent brushes stashed away just waiting. I have decided that when my face is clear of all hair, I want to get somone to make me up and hopefully get a picture to give me a better idea of what I have to work with. Both of my sisters know and would help me if I asked. I have a good relationship with my mother and would be comfortable asking her too.

Before I started electrolysis I had had my beard and mo waxed a few times (yes, painful...but fast) and was also plucking the little blighters when they popped up. My electrologist told me that if I was going to have electrolysis that I needed to stop waxing and plucking since the process can lead to a lot of ingrown hair and make it difficult to access the follicles for permanent hair removal.

I can see how that would be necessary for electrolosis. I cleared it for the second time yesterday and while there is still alot of hair remaining, it is finer than before and not as dense. The pain is not nearly as intense as it was the first time just as it was for my underarms.

Even though I am only seeing temporary results from my efforts, I am getting positive results and what I wanted to accomplish I have done. I hope someone else who does not have much funding can use this as incentive to at least try it to see if it give them any relief as it has me. Just knowing this one thing works for me makes me very, very happy.
