So for the past 3 months I've been drinking daily tea of licorice root to help lower my t as i read it has a strong effect n lowering it. I couldn't help myself and began opening the tea bags after they've soaked and drank it as well to get most benefits. Not knowing it's true effects its actually also helped me breathe a lot better(bronchitis). So i was wondering, , my mum has these 100% herbal blend dissolving tabs she got from a nutritionist to help support her menopause , would it be safe for me to consume ?

It's possible and no it isn't self medicating, but I don't believe that will give much results for you alone. I'm glad it has helped you breather better. Still, I hope your getting medical care to deal with your bronchitis. Hugs

The problem with the "natural" approach is most of the time it's pretty useless and sometimes it can be dangerous. Almost everything you can take internally can have a bad reaction in a small number of people. In medications and food, these are well known but some of the natural medications haven't been studied so the side effects may not be known. On another thread, I attempted to help somebody who had a serious and permanent reaction to one of the more common items you can purchase in a health food store. The reaction was not well known and treatment of the damage wasn't very successful.

Very true Dena , kind of like black licorice can have an effect on the liver   :-\  considering some sushis or foods can sicken people and they're very common on some people's diet i guess it wouldn't hurt to give it a try ? Considering i dont have high testosterone levels and maybe this would help me overpower it  ???

I took licorice root for 4 weeks before I started hrt. The doctor took my blood and did a full work up. They found that my testerone was down too 19/ nl but it was hurting my liver. My liver labs came back and stated that I had been damaging my liver. So it works but at a price........

personally I've never believe in that those products had any benefit. If it helps without damage go for it , but the best approach is through a doctor.
