Kind of excited. This male at work approached me to hang out. First hang out was coffee at starbucks and he paid. We are doing something Saturday (probably some food with bands and maybe some bar hopping) so I must not have scared him away yet. It was quite unexpected since I figure people at work peg me as a lesbian. I don't know much about him so not sure how bringing up the trans topic is going to play out. No one at work knows I'm trans but if someone asked I wouldn't deny it. I don't think I really want to bring it up right away since I'm 24 and haven't had something even close to a relationship since highschool. I don't want to mess anything up since its the first guy interested in me in forever and I don't want to go to fast or do the wrong thing. My only relationship experience was highschool (as a girl) and I don't think that really counts when you get into the world of adult dating.

Finally told him I was trans two weeks later. It was a deal breaker.

Hi Alex! So what if it was a dealbreaker? It's better this way so you won't lose time with a person that may or may not like you afterwards. It sound like a clisé but I think you deserve much more than that! And I don't think you're going to have many problems with dates in the long term. It's scary as hell for everyone (straight, gay, cis, trans) because you never know what will happen. It's exciting as well. So once you embrace yourself and gain some confidence I'm sure it's going to be raining men! So don't feel sad and just take this as an opportunity to make the most of life!!)  :)
