So after 3 and a half months on T and working out regularly, my shoulders have bulked up quite a bit. (From 39.5 inches to 42.5 inches in circumference.) This was all well and good until I ordered a new binder from GC2B since my old ones are pretty stretched out only to discover that I was literally stuck in the size Small to the point that I popped the reinforcing back seams just to get it off over my shoulders.  It is the same size as my old binder, but I have bulked up a lot in the shoulders, and it did not even OCCUR to me that this would affect my binder size until I forced the dang thing on and could not get out of it for forty-five minutes.  I was super close to just cutting it off.  It fit the same on the chest as when my old binders were new, but it dug in under the arms like crazy and pinched my shoulders like mad.  I am keeping it since I popped the seams so badly, but just a warning to guys a few months on T: don't assume that just because your chest size is the same that you will wear the same size binder!  Gaining a few inches in the shoulders is more than enough to leave you trapped!

Same thing happened to me! Went from a S/M to easily a L, just because my shoulders bulked several months on T.

That's happened to me already and I haven't even put the kind of work in that I want to on the upper body yet... first two binders I got did that. I was wondering what the hell was up with that but it turns out my shoulders are just...huge somehow compared to the rest of my frame.

I have double-jointed shoulders, it's really helpful lol

so do the next size up binders bind your chest as well as the old ones?

This is why I just use the cheap Chinese binders from eBay, my frame has grown quite rapidly and I've had to go through a few sizes over the past years. If I had gotten the usual binders I would have burned a lot of money.

I haven't gotten larger ones yet, but I am guessing they will.  I have small breasts and a mild case of pectus excavatum (I have a minor dip in the bone structure of my chest) so my small breasts can press down into this dip area and be hidden fairly well by even double sports bras.  But since I already paid for two new binders and they fit okay once they are actually on, I will probably try and stretch them out.  The seams are already popped, so I should be able to get them off now--no point in wasting the money I spent.  The short binder isn't too bad.  It's the full length binder that is super, SUPER hard to get off.  I am hoping a few washings will stretch it out to the size of my old binders.

Same thing here. Luckily I had a large Underworks already for working out in, so I was just able to use that. If I hadn't been a few weeks out from top surgery, I probably would've bought an extra one.

It was funny looking at the medium ones I had before I gave them away - thinking how did I ever fit in these? They looked like baby shirts :D

Muscle Matt

I should wear a small for proper chest reduction, but since I have asthma and scoliosis, I went with a medium and only wore it a few times a week at most. I've always had large shoulders and a wider ribcage for my stature, so looking back on it, I don't think a small would have ever fit for that reason. After being on T for a short period, my ribcage expanded some more, and I think my back muscles grew, too, despite not working out my upper body. I probably stopped being able to wear my binder at all a month or so into T. Last time I tried it on, it was super tight, but I figured I'd bear through it for the day out with my friends. I didn't even finish getting dressed and I couldn't breathe and had to rip it off the same way I used to when I would wear it for 8 hours at a time. So I can no longer bind, even on rare occasions, hence one of the many reasons I need my top surgery so soon on T. I'm pretty sure even if I wanted to waste the money, a large wouldn't conceal my chest properly at all (even the medium didn't look great on me).

It's amazing how such small growth changes can drastically affect your size.
