I was thinking about this today and was wondering....

How should I present when I goto the Courthouse to file for my name change when the time comes? Of course I want to go as myself but my voice is pretty far off from inspiring.

Also, If I do get it approved, how should I present in front of the Judge? Do they announce your Birth name and then announce the one you want to change it to, loud where everyone else in Family Court can hear it?

How did you Girls do it, for those who have?

many STATES have different ways of doing things, so you will read people saying then walked in and out no issues or in and out with or without any or surgery's  all depends on YOUR LOCATION! best to contact your local court house or court website or legal advice.... for more info

i live in USA-CA so the state of CA is very easy on us, no surgery needed just about 1 year on HRT best part is you dont need to dress full or half time as a Female or Male but when you are ready, what i did was skiped the Therapist and found a DOCTOR who got me a referral the to see a DR at Planned Parenthood i took a full BLOOD LAB WORK UP with me and same day started on HRT did not have to go dress as a Female i am M2F so i went dressed a MALE and still got HRT the same visit not everyone can though the dr will have to do a blood test and also make sure you seem OK to start and asks questiosn FAIL that and you have to see them more 1st... I DID MY RESEARCH shhhhh i cheated i did reserach learned everything best i could about many things before i went in 5 months after hrt i found a therapist  cuz i started to get some cool emotions and wanted to talk to someone about it, 1 year and 4 months later i am still 80% guy mode only cuz i cant afford clothing right now... so broke... but i

so from what i read in the court house it said if you did a NAME CHANGE ONLY without gender you have to publish in paper.... YIKES>... but i feel 100% i am female so i did BOTH ( name and gender ) at the same time and filled out the paper work for it DID NOT have to PUBLISH in news paper since i did BOTH NAME AND GENDER.... you bypass the news paper// that way...

so i filled out paper work using the Transgender ID PLEASE PDF and went to court house to file NOV 2rd and NOV 11th got a court date for DEC 14th and poof went to court ONLY 4 people in there OMG/// after 2 left he called me up I WENT DRESS in TIE, BUTTON UP SHIRT RED< and black pants i went guy mode but went to ask to be a female judge did not mind me dressed as a male even though i was there to ask to be a female lol... he open folder read it said I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I AM LOOKING AT I NEVER SAW THIS BEFORE GO SIT DOWN WHILE I GATHER INFO.... time later the other 2 people left i would say i was not there even 1hr.... judge gives me teh EYE to come up did not say a word I WAS SCARED TO DEATH.... he just signed the paper said i did not want to blast your info to the court room they have no business knowing this thats why i had u go seat down and wait of the room to clear that was it really... i went to Social secrutiy turn in paper and 1 week later got new card and got DMV appontment and not even there 45min and 2 weeks later got new ID

Gender Now on ALL USA GOV DOCUMENTS ( FEMALE ) + name name.....


its really simple in CA... not sure of any other state....

other states and country's i read they ask you not ask FORCE you to dress as the sex/gender you want for 1 to 2 years + see a therapist after that they will start you on HRT>... as well other states ask that before you can change GENDER on any document you must under go surgery 1st!

It generally doesn't matter, but i was full time when I went so I totally presented as Mariah. It's your call as to which. It may give more backing to your petition if your dressed as your authentic gender, but it shouldn't matter. Hugs
