So happy about this! I have been waiting for things to look up financially and now it's really going to happen!

After many months (and lurking around the net for a few years), I have decided that Dr. DiMaggio is the best for my own personal needs
I have a TYPE III forehead, and I believe he'll be aggressive enough to handle it efficiently.

A big THANK YOU to all of you and especially Janicshe who pointed me in his direction.

I had a brilliant conversation with him, and I didn't feel that he was upselling me or trying hard compliment me in hopes of getting more out of it.  He was very very informative and polite.  He told what he could or couldn't do with my face and set realistic goals for my surgery. And it was nice he didn't charge for the consult.

I pass pretty well, but my face has been such a dysphoric part of my life that I can't wait to see what will happen.

I'm also looking forward to visiting Argentina!

I'll keep everyone posted as I get closer to the surgery date.

Thanks for all your support and advice!
Cheers!

Congrats! :icon_dance: From the results I've seen, he's a very talented surgeon. Looking forward to hearing about your experience if you decide to share. :)

My congratulations too.

IMHO Dr DiMaggio and Facial Team are the two top FFS practices.

Looking forward to seeing your result.

Well ladies, the date is set!!

I will be going to Argentina to have FFS with Dr. DiMaggio in Buenos Aires!  I started my journey 4 1/2 years or so, and I have to say I couldn't stop thinking about FFS (especially after seeing one of my mentors new face).

I was going to see Dr. Ousterhout but didn't beat him to his retirement. I wasn't 100% about his protoge', since I couldn't get enough information. I'm sure he's great, but I'm happy with my decision.
I feel Dr. DiMaggio shares the same aggressive techniques that I need. But, that's just me.

I'll be going for most of May, since my wife and I decided that I might as well have some fun before and a little after my operations.  I'll be getting a little mid face lift since I'm a little older than most, just to give me a "youthful boost".

I have my wife to thank for my new face, since her company was bought by another HUGE one and she was able to cash in some of her stock options for this endeavor! I feel so blessed to have such an amazing spouse. She's has never let me down. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for her support and love.

I'm a little nervous, but after seeing the work he's done, and doing more than a little research, I think (for me) he's perfect.  He answered ALL my questions, and truly seemed to care about this transformation. He's been holding our hands while we booked the apartment, and flights.  A lot more than some would do.

I'm trying not to think too much on it.  I've always wanted to visit Argentina and love the culture there. It reminds me of some of the European cities I have visited.  I'll take some pics for "show and tell".

I'm still shy about posting my face, but who knows, maybe after the op I won't be as shy (besides, who needs to be attached to any facial recognition).

Glad to hear you've finalised the date :-)
I understand you'll be staying i BsAs for some weeks so having company is excellent.
The city is very European in style and it's huge.

Say hello to MDM and the team from me.

Wish you all the best.

I've had a bit of a cold and haven't had the chance to thank everyone! So THANK YOU.

Jan was kind enough to guide me through a few things, so thanks Jan!

My wife and I are really looking forward to this trip.  We have a few days before the first meeting and a few days after the last check up before I come back.  We figured we had spent a bit to get there we might as well enjoy it.  Plus I wanted my face to heal and go down a bit before scaring anyone on the plane. Lol

My wife's family are a mix of East Coast Americans that ended up in Peru after the Korean War (they were stationed there and loved it). And the other side are Italians that also ended up there, so her Spanish is impeccable. Mine is ok, so Argentina shouldn't be too hard to get around.  I'm also hoping to at least dance the Tango once...well, I should say learn to dance the Tango, then dance. Lol

I'm trying not to think too much about it.  I have to say that I have VERY supportive friends as well, but some are scared that my face will look too different.  I understand their concern.  One of them even asked my spouse if it would make a difference if I came back with a different face...if she would love me the same... which kinda hurt my feelings. I'm not exactly sure why it bothered me, but it did.
I was reminded by her, that nothing has changed through my 5 or so year transition. I am so loved and so thankful.  I am constantly reminded how lucky I truly am.
The rest of my friends, are just so impressed with the changes I had on HRT that some don't think I need FFS. But, I'm afraid my facial Dysphoria is the strongest.  Luckily, my therapist thinks it's ok and understands why I want this.

I've never made a Transition Video. I've wanted to, but I've been a bit of a chicken. I know I really can't go stealth because I've lived long enough to have a history out there in internet land. I wonder if my new face will change that. Either way, I've been documenting my changes, and keeping a Diary which I have been ignoring since my life is quite "normal" as a woman now.  I think the hardest part for me was going through that puberty stage, when I didn't know if I was "there" yet. Eventually that changed when people began to perceive me as a female and using the right pronouns without me saying a word. It still blows my mind occasionally when I look at my reflection in a store window and see my true self.

Oh God, I've gone and rambled everyone to sleep now. Lol

I guess the cough medicine helped...or not.

Again, thank you for your kind words.

I'll keep everyone posted as things begin to take place.

Cheers!

...

My dear,

I am lucky as you are on this, my spouse supports me also from the beginning... five years back or so... she has been comprehensive and loving all time, and if we thought once to separate in the early times of my transition, just after I came out of the closet, we realized shortly that it was impossible since it would have be a major wound for all of us, including our 20 y.o. son, so we decided to stay together, leaving sex aside, and taking care of the strong ties that bind us for decades..

She's very rich, but not of money ..

You and I have diamonds at home ...

My best congratulations for your coming FFS, it will boost your transition ahead...

Okay, despite my happiness, I admit, I'm getting nervous about my trip and FFS.

Do any of you on here; that have had FFS, have ANY advice for this? I leave on April 28th...it's getting closer.

I don't have any regrets. I just keep thinking about ...oh you know THE PAIN. lol   And also I think "what if I spend all this money, and I look like a gorilla?"  >:-)

I keep going to DiMaggio website and it's amazing the work he does. My male friends could not tell the girls were not CIS gender.  They even said they'd ask a few for dates! I guess that's a good sign?

My friends are saying things like "Oh I hope they don't mess too much with your face. You have a pretty face, why would you do all that?"  They don't understand of course, but yeah, it affects me in several ways.

I'd love to hear from those of you who have dealt with the jitters.

Thanks for the kind words and help!

It is a scary process, and since I have an anxiety disorder, it's a bit terrifying for me, but focusing on the results instead of the procedure is helpful for me, and it's also helpful if I focus on the fact that I am in good health, and that I exercise regularly and maintain a healthy diet, plus knowing that I had a pre surgery physical with normal lab results and a normal EKG; and trusting your surgeon is extremely important as well; also, keep a positive attitude and know that everything will go as expected with no complications.  Please keep us updated; and best wishes for amazing results 😊

I fully understand your anxiety. Also through this , I was counting the days to operate ...
What procedures will you do?
FFS is a dream for us, that many doctors do not understand . Good luck. Eager to see your photos. kisses

Hello all.

I went to get my pre op studies done.  I've had these before, and all has always come out right. BUT, this time there seemed to be something different. I was tested twice, and they found a little glitch. They said that they wanted more tests done, because this last test showed some sort of Heart Disease POSSIBLY.  WHAT? How could that happen in only a few months???
So, I go in tomorrow for more tests.  In hopes of finding out whether it IS or ISN'T that.

I'm set to leave to Buenos Aires, Argentina on Tuesday.  But, if things are not what they should be, I'll be REALLLLYYY hating life.   I've always come out HEALTHY and not only that, but I've tested as someone younger! (meaning I have the body and health of a 25 year old).

I'm hoping this is something that won't get in the way of my FFS.  It's just weird.  I feel good.  Great in fact.

So this has been a downer for me.

My health is more important than FFS, but yeah, it would be nice to get it done.... and on schedule too.  We contorted our schedules and lives for this trip.

I hope you all will keep me in your hopes and thoughts.

And as usual, thanks for your support.

I hope everything is OK, and that you don't have to reschedule your FFS.
