Pre errythang. Feeling like I'm looking more queer / andro with blonde hair, but I'm a queer guy and I do drag (occasionally) so go figure

I was dared to dye my hair ginger with some hair dye we had had since like 2007... I like ginger but I know that dyeing hair can be perceived as feminine and I just agh worried um do I still pass.

Na you're fine, loads of guys dye their hair, particularly red, bleach and ginger. From what I've seen anyway

youtube's the best place for tutorials
apparently, you can train to lower it
from the tutorial i've seen, just lower your voice when you talk, yawn, stretch your neck and don't wear your binder too much (prevents you from taking deep breathes for the talking thing)
but the guy said it worked for him, so he doesn't know if it would apply to everyone

I think this is a great suggestion you bring up, but what if you still have to go by your assigned name and gender for legal reasons?

Kinda doesn't make sense to train your voice to speak deeper if your birth certificate and ID among other documentation reflects you as female, which is the case with me.

I felt so silly for trying to talk deeper only to be called "Miss" and "Ma'am" later over the phone no matter what, because of my registered name and gender. :(

I dyed my hair blue last week for the first time. And it will be the last, lol. Never use Splat. That stuff is a huge mess. But at least it came out a'ight.

A bit tough to see in this picture cause it came out much darker, like a navy blue, because I have naturally black hair. Had to bleach that sucker for like an hour!

I was hoping mine would come out like Chase's hair dyes (the famous FTM Youtuber, who is mighty cute by the way...in the most manliest way possible. ;)). But I think his hair is like naturally brown and therefore, much lighter than mine. I think I would have required a second Splat package to get my hair as light blue as his gets. Oh well....

Hey Phoenix,

I really like that shade of blue and it suits you really well :). It also makes you look rather handsome. Who cares what the hospital staff see you as when you clearly look like a good looking man, they must need their eyes testing.

Thanks, bro.

And yeah, we shouldn't care at all what anyone sees us as. If we know unto ourselves what we are, then that is what we are, no matter what. Great point, Elis! :D

I used to dye my hair blue and turquoise - I've got dark brown hair and i used to bleach it to a sort of orange or blond, and use SFX and Directions dyes and they came out pretty bright. this was about ten years ago tho mind :/ sometimes if you use toner to get rid of the yellowy tones of the bleached parts you can get a lighter shade too.

What bothered me the most, aside from those yellow tones you're talking about, is the mess I had to clean up afterwards. Goodness, I would rather go to a professional than go through that hardship ever again. >.<

Yeah. My hands totally matched my hair. You gotta have time and patience on your side to do this. I made sure that I had absolutely nothing to do that day. Though it would burn a hole in my wallet, I would much rather head over to a barbershop and have this done than to do it myself ever again in my life!

Hahaha. One purple eyebrow. That had to be quite a sight. I was very careful not to get any in my eyebrows because I didn't want to accidentally go blind. Which would of course, suck. But hell, I shaved my eyebrows completely off. Made my face look broader and stonier. ;D

these are from a year ago...

im pre-everything
the only thing that seems to be a problem to prevent me from passing completely on the streets would be my voice and my chest...

100% pass :D I agree with Matt that Asians seem to have better chance of passing(pre-HRT).I remember when I lived in China(I was pre-T at that time),my male friend and I wore same shirts and we looked like soul brothers..same height, similar built(he is short,skinny)...but when I returned to Europe...oh boy, most of guys were much taller..so yeah, that's probably one of the reasons that gradually I started feeling transRACIAL as well lol..I still miss China. Now I'm on T and due to facial fat redistribution my cheeks are smaller and jaw more square so I started looking more like local guys..which makes daily interaction easier..Wishing you smooth transition! ;)

IMO bald haircut doesn't suit you..because if you let you hair grow you can shape it in such way that your skull seems more masculine.I would buy glasses with thinner temples...When I was kid,I wanted such haircut(I was 5 yo lol,and hairstylist lied to me and shaped it differently).I wore spikes during teen years...

Thank you for your honesty. Though, I am not bald completely. Its a mohawk. Therefore, there is hair in the center. I'm not into doing hair like that and am quite satisfied with just cutting it. But I see what you mean. My hair never really grew too much anyway even while living as female. I would cut it all off if I were on T. :)

Do you guys think I pass at all today?

how to take a screenshot on a pc

I think the brown eyeglasses I had in my other pics do make me look alot less masculine. So I will either not wear them unless I really need to or get men's eyeglasses. I think wearing the sunglasses helps cover up the annoying roundness of my womanly shaped head. Ball caps and skullcaps help also.

But I love my mohawk. I never felt better about my hair until I got it cut in that style. Probably will keep it this way for as long as I can. I'm thinking about growing it out into a bit of a braided ponytail with the mohawk once I start T. So awesome! I love mohawks!^^

Hi Phoenix.

I think the sunglasses look really badass on you and I'm glad that your mohawk gives you so much confidence :).
