Hello from Scotland!!
February 15, 2016, 09:51:24 AM
Hey everyone Jools here! So I've just come to the conclusion that I'm a trans woman...I say come to the conclusion, it's something I always new but buried deep deep down somewhere. So now it's come out again and I've decided to accept it this time and I've never felt better about it. I decided to attempt to see a Gender Therapist but here in Glasgow it's a 14 MONTH WAIT!!!! WTF?? I'm 32 already and am so scared about getting older before 'transitioning'. Trying to stay positive about it...it gives me sometime to think, experiment with clothes & make up (EEEEK) and maybe try to drop a few pounds!! I also have to think about how to tell my GF and 'old - fashioned' parents.
I never thought I'd accept this part of myself, it's scary so scary. I can literally feel my stomach turning itself in knots when I think about it, but I smile and it feels right. It's also great to know that I'm not the only one going through this. I would dearly love to meet other people going through the same thing, learn about there stories and experiences.
Come say HI ladies
😀 xx

Hi from the east coast... I was wondering if you knew that you can self-refer to Sandyford Clinic in Glasgow? Just in case you hadn't already, but it might speed things up a tiny bit if you're not waiting for your GP/ mental health to refer you.

Hi Peep,
Great to meet you
Yeah I have referred myself to Sandyford, still can't believe it's a 12 - 14 month wait though. There's either a lot of us around the west coast or the NHS operate very slowly!
How's it over on the east coast?

Hi Jools, welcome to Susan's Place!
It's not uncommon to take many years of soul searching to put all the pieces of the trans puzzle together. Even then, it may take even longer to reach the point of self-acceptance.
I can't believe you have such a long wait to see a therapist! At least you're taking positive steps in the interim.
