"HB 1008 seeks to ban transgender students from using school restrooms and locker rooms that correspond with their gender identity. The measure was passed by the state senate Tuesday after being passed by the state house last week."

In the USA Today article, the governor admitted he'd never knowingly met a trans person but had decided not to meet with one "to remain objective."

How is that OK, that a decision affecting thousands of people's rights is made in ignorance?

Because he's going to sign the bill into law but wants claim he was objective.
