The Advocate/By Trudy Ring February 18 2016 3:33 PM EST

"The Virginia House of Delegates this week approved a broad "religious freedom" bill that would prevent the state from penalizing businesses and individuals who cite faith-based grounds for discriminating against same-sex couples, transgender people, and people who have sex outside of marriage."

Are they going to mandate a Scarlet Letter also?

Note to self- Avoid Virginia

If this keeps up there will be no safe place in the country.

A pro-LGBT USSC Justice might be the way to go.

I so want to see this part applied against the folks who supported this. "I'm sorry Ms. Davis, but we cannot serve you here, because you slept with a man who wasn't your husband and have been married multiple times."

Yay, so happy for my state being this intolerant![emoji22] this sucks, I may have to end up moving if Virginia keeps going down this road.

Just think what kind of hot mess they'll have on their hands when the military accepts transgender service members.  Virginia has a very large military population, both active and retired.  Congressmen fought very hard to maintain their carrier presence.

Going to be quite embarrassing on them, I think.

Even though I don't live in the US now, I still feel very sad to read certain things. Republicans and their war on LGBT people is such a shame. I know there are very liberal states (like the one where my girlfriend lives), but it makes me mad that people consider religion a tool that allows them to be hateful and discriminate against others. I'm a religious person so it makes me feel even more ashamed of them  :embarrassed:
