So after legal headaches up the wahzoo. I finally am getting my Legal Name And Gender changed. The clerk was a super awesome gay guy ^__^ So he was super nice which was awesome. However my hearing is April 5, 2016.

Hearing... I dont appear before a judge, apparently it's to pick up certifications of name and gender change or some s**t like that.

So obviously on that day... I am going to be one busy girl. DMV will likely be the first step... Then the Social Security Office. Or....... should it be the other way around? O.o

Like I am looking to get my License changed AS QUICK as I can. That way when I go out to a bar... or need to flash my ID it reflects who I am

Also have a Convention coming up in the end of May. To which I WILL need my ID to pick up my attendee badge. So I kinda have that lil rush >__<

Does anyone know what steps I need to take to do all of this?

Don't know what state you live in I am in CA. The dmv here will take your license when you change your name and gender and issue you a temporary one. The SSA office requires a photo ID and your court order so you need your licence there, so SSA first.

I live in California and I did my drivers license first and then did ssa once I had the new drivers license in hand. I believe that other folks have done it the other way. If you do it DMV first you'll need to wait until the new license arrives to go to ssa.
