Hi fellow beautiful ladies,

I was hoping to ask a quick question today if that is okay. Do you think it's okay to sometimes be turned on by your developing female self? I don't know. It's got me jumbled a bit in the head, but sometimes when I wear some cute outfits, I feel sexy and it turns me on. Is it natural to be turned on when you feel like you're hot, just by yourself in front of the mirror? I would look at my butt, notice it's become a lot more shapely and feminine, and it turns me on. I hope that's not weird, or a bad sign. :/

Nothing wrong with that!  Enjoy!

No, I don't think it's wrong to look in the mirror and see how sexy and attractive you are. If you think you look great, imagine what others may think!!

Love,
Clare

Totally agree. Many of us feel that way. My body has changed so much in the last year, that i am somewhat shocked when i look in the mirror at times.

Oh that's a nice relief. And you all think it's okay if it physically turns me on? It doesn't mean I'm just like aroused at the idea of being the opposite gender right? Wouldn't that be terrible? D:

Transition isn't easy - sometimes it comes with lots of inconvenience and difficulty and heartache.  That makes it all the more important to enjoy the good parts.  Pleasure is good!  Never pass it by!

Sounds pretty normal to me...getting turned on by the fact you are looking and feeling sexy is a bonus...now if I could just get that dam ugly thing of mine to stay down permanently then I would be much happier...(I keep saying I don't know if I want SRS...LOL who am I trying to kid)

So what if you have a reaction to something you are wearing...to be aroused by ourselves is probably quite healthy for us when you consider how we felt/feel about ourselves prior to transition. It has to be healthier than all the negatives we feel.

Awww I love that philosophy. Sometimes I do worry that enjoying the transition is a bad sign, since, ya know, I haven't even come close to fully transitioning yet.

Tell me about it! XD That makes a lot of sense, thank you. :) Do you think it's also okay if when I'm done masturbating my gender dysphoria goes away for a little bit? :/

Amy413

I'm not sure, but I think that 'turned on' feeling when wearing a cute outfit is what is actually like to not be disphoric about my body.

I'll bet pretty much everyone has a little narcissistic 'fancy' for themselves.
I think it's the roots of self confidence.
Of course out of control it can turn into an ego out of control.
But liking the way I look makes me want to take care of my body more. Eat healthier, exercise more, use proper grooming.

I recently have been exercising more and feeling adorable in some outfits ;)

Seems perfectly natural to me.

After an orgasm, everyone get a bit of a euphoric period where persistent stresses like dysphoria subside somewhat.
Myself, I have found masturbation to be somewhat of an anxiety reaction. Recently as I have just spent time alone (still too scared to go out as a girl) for long periods and as I'm coming to more acceptance of myself as a tran*. I find I don't need to masturbate as much, and I'm strangely cool with that. I mean yeah I still have a libido, but as I accept and embrace myself, I'm just cool hangin doin regular stuff on the computer or whatever, in my cute outfit.

As it has already been stated, it is okay to feel this way.

I am almost two years in HRT and it gets more and more exciting as the days go by.

Heyyy!!

I don't have as much of a dysphoria about my body because I can enjoy my male self if I choose, though I will say that when I do see myself and I look and feel hot, I physically get aroused as well.

Totally convenient bc we don't have to rely on others as often ;)

One of the little secrets of womanhood, one that every woman knows but most men can't even start to understand is that women often dress nice, wear makeup, shave there legs and wear there sexiest underwear not because they are trying to attract some guy, but because it makes them feel good.

Feeling sexy because you like how you look is completely normal for any woman trans or cis.

Girls & clothes is like boys & cars. Clothes are just the toy girls love to play with.
Playing "fashion show!" is a favorite pastime for many of us.
The popularity of the "selfie", and the explosion of cosplay speaks that whole case.
Clothes = Play.

When I was young, my older sister and her friends used to pin me down and do me up. I make a "token" attempt to  fight them off. I loved every minute of it.

I bet it's normal.  I'm a straight cis woman and sometimes think I look sexy, haha.  I'm not even attracted to women but I can think they're sexy. :)

Also my ex, a trans woman, would get turned on sometimes by dressing in sexy girl clothes.  I think that's fine and normal.

I believe this is absolutely true. Look at women's magazines. In erotic terms, I consider them far sexier than porn. Yet women get them. I have also heard that women occasionally dress for someone else but mostly for themselves. I have read that most cis women feel sexy and almost turn themselves on by what they wear.

Long story, not short, in ways this is normal. If it is the only reason, it might be something to discuss with your therapist.

Enjoy,

Ok, I can not speak for other women. I like to look at the fashion magazines, and web sites of similar content and think about how the outfits would feel and what kinds of "fun" I would imagine having in them. I find I am actually drawn to pictures of a 'similar' body type to how I feel. This makes it easier to imagine what the outfit would be like.
I look at the cover of cosmo and think.... "oooooo, I can go out and be naughty in that."

Over the years listening to the "fantasies" people have when with themselves, Though you really can't draw anything but really fuzzy lines, mine are similar more often to those expressed by women.

Awww you are all helping so much, thank you! ^_^ It's good to know that it's normal behavior. I just like feeling sexy sometimes. And I certainly never found myself attractive in male mode.

naa

I read a study a few months ago, I don't remember the exact numbers or phrasing, but it said something like 80% of Women have been turned on by their own appearance at least once, and 20% get turned on frequently by their own appearance.

So don't worry, you're pretty typical

It makes plenty of sense.  When you perceive yourself the way you feel, it's a big deal.  It's perfectly reasonable that the excitement can cause your body to react.  I like to think that that's just the most direct way to experience how happy you are with yourself.
