- Insist on saying "he", "his", "him", "man" ECT.

- Making comments on my body.

- Have mods who punish ME for complaining about such treatment.

That said, there are those who are respectful and kind, but unfortenetly for me, they are not the loud ones.

bullies try to provoke.
When someone feels insecure they tear everything down around them.
They attack that which scares them, rather than try to understand and confront their fears.
Scared animals, cornered, lashing out. They are easily intimidated.

I don't know maybe I should look around , but this is the only forum I've ever been on. When I started HRT I looked on the internet for forums for the trangender population and looked at the sites I could find. I don't know why , but I saw this site and was browsing it and never left. I'm kind of ignorant about other sites.

Where would this "forum" be? ->-bleeped-<-, or something like that?

Twenty years ago, about the same time Susan was beginning this, I was active on AOL's Transgender Community Forum chatroom (aka The Gazebo). It was mostly MtF, with a few FtMs and supporters mixed in. It was fast-paced and well moderated.

Anyway, what's the point of hanging out at a forum where abuse is embedded in the culture? There are enough opportunities in the real world to get our brains beaten in. There is no sense in allowing it to happen virtually.

I am a moderator on a large forum, and I can vouch for the fact that there are trolls everywhere.  Bullying is the norm on most forums.  A sad reflection on the condition of humanity, isn't it?

That is why we are so lucky here on Susan's, that the moderating team does such a good job of keeping it a safe place.
