Ok, so to begin, I'm an avid pumper, and have seen great results from pumping so far, even without T. So if you've never pumped before, don't intend to pump, and only want to tell other people not to pump based on what you've heard from other people who also haven't pumped, I kindly ask that you leave. This thread is not intended for you.

The pump I currently use is the Size Matters clitoris pump. I've gone from the smallest size (I can't even fit it anymore) and now use the largest size (1" diameter). I'm about to need to go up another size. However, most clit pumps don't usually even come in anything over 3/4" (so happy the kit I own has the 1" cylinder!), and most penis pumps don't offer anything smaller than 1.5". In order to ensure the proper pump and growth, I'm going to need a 1 1/4" cylinder, so that when I first start out with the new size, I don't end up pumping in anything extra/causing growth where I don't want it (sorry for any images that may put in your head). I'm hoping that with enough time and effort, I'll be able to one day fit a 1.5" penis pump and have a much broader option of style/types when shopping.

For those who've pumped, do you know of any good 1 1/4" cylinders I can buy? I'm willing to spend around $50 or so. Has anyone worked their way up to a normal penis pump, and does 1.5" sound like a realistic pumping goal for someone pre-meta?

Also, some general questions. What has been your pumping experience thus far? Has anyone ever tried one of the cylinders you can attach weights to, and do they work on the trans male body? There's also a pretty nifty-looking water pump I've been eyeing up (https://www.bathmateshop.us/products/bathmate-hydromax-x20), has anyone ever tried anything like this? Any tips you can share for us fellow pumpers?

Personally, I've worked my way up to 2 45 minute sessions every day (I get sad whenever I have to miss a session). I know most people seem to suggest short sessions, but I've built my tolerance up over time, and know where to safely pump myself without causing damage, and even 30 minute sessions don't always give me the same results that they used to (and 15 minutes is almost the equivalent of doing nothing). I can't wait to begin buying other pumps and trying new things. At first, pumping felt like a chore to me and was something I was only doing in hopes of getting good results. However, after seeing that it DOES work, I've begun to enjoy the process more and more, and look forward to trying different types and methods over the next few years.

I have the same pump as you and worked from the medium cylinder to the large. I started pumping maybe 6-8 months on T, and never fit the smallest. I think I should also probably go up a size, but I'll wait to figure that out after my surgery consult this week (trying to decide between meta and phallo). I do 3 15-minute sessions a day during the week. On the weekends I bump them up to 30 minutes.

Unfortunately I very much see it as a chore, and at this point I'm not seeing much difference in size. I've only gained about 1/4" from pumping despite the consistency/frequency of my schedule.

As far as methodology, I did see an interesting link posted on a meta group about "jelqing". Which is basically manual stretching done over a period of time. If you google that and FTM, I'm sure the blog it was posted on will come up.

I'm actually interested in "jelqing", and am considering trying it once my guy is a little bigger and I can get a better grip. ^^; However, I've also heard that jelqing could cause erections to be less hard, and I'm not sure if that's just a cis problem or not. Still would like to try it, though.

The main reason I want to try the water pump is because you use it in the shower, so it's easier to fit into your daily routine. Since my largest cylinder is defective and I need to keep the pump attached to keep the air in, it's much more of a pain than it ever was before. At least the for cylinders that worked, I could pump it up and then detach the pump and go about my daily activities. Another reason I look forward to getting the next size up. ^^;

As depressing as it is, for our bodies, an extra 1/4" of growth isn't too bad. Especially considering some people don't grow down there at all on T. As much as I like to believe that I'll be able to get great results from pumping, if I only grow a small amount from it, I'll still know I'm in a better position than if I hadn't pumped at all (and as someone who's set on having meta, every little bit is incredibly important). Plus, pumping really does seem to help my little guy get and stay harder at times, and that I enjoy.

I use the 1.25" cylinder from here: http://www.toolshedtoys.com/product_info.php/cPath/48_226/products_id/3564 It's great, no complaints, and I like the LA pump too.

I started on this size due to being girthier than most from the get-go. Pumping has done more for my girth than my length haha! Both good and bad thing. It's looking like if I go up a size, I will need to use a pump made for cis guys...

I started 2 years on T, with about 1.25" length soft/1.5" hard, and now after 6 months (on and off) of pumping, I'm at 1.5" soft and pushing 2" at the most erect.

I also try for twice a day at 30 minutes each session, during which I watch an episode of a show. Makes it less of a chore. I don't really know how much growth to expect from pumping, and some of my increase of size may just be a coincidence, but it definitely seems like pumping makes me consistently bigger, so I consider the process worth it.

My question is: Will it retain this size if I ever stop pumping, or will it shrink?  ???

Just wondering about sizes, and perhaps an odd question - but lengthwise where do you measure from? I don't want to invest in one that may be too small or too large for my size.

Well for length you want measure along the top, starting at the beginning of your dick and measuring to the tip. Cylinder sizes are usually either 3" or 5" length, so you probably don't need to worry about that.

What we're talking about is the diameter of the cylinder, which you can find by measuring the circumference of your dick (use a piece of string to measure around) and then convert that to diameter. The diameter of your cylinder should be 50% larger in size than the diameter of your dick. So a 1" diameter dick needs a 1.5" diameter cylinder.

Thank you so much for the recommendation! Glad to hear you've gotten such great results from only 6 months of pumping, that's amazing! One more question: are pumps all a standard size? Should my Size Matters pump attach to basically any cylinder?

You have to pump long-term to make the results permanent, but they do eventually become permanent. Once you stop pumping you may end up losing a little bit of progress, but who's to say. A lot of people who pump do it regularly long-term, and then just drop down to an occasional maintenance schedule for a while before stopping. But it all depends on the person and how devoted they are/their feelings towards it. I personally have done it almost every single day, twice a day for over 6 months now, and don't plan on stopping anytime soon. Since I'm expecting to do this for years, I hope I can fit a Bathmate some day so it does become less of a hassle. ^^;

spro is correct, as a transman, you will (unfortunately) only ever need to measure girth, as we will never fit the length. Unless you get phallo, in which case it will be a lot easier to measure length anyway. I've never even measured my diameter; I started with the Size Matters clit pump kit, with 3 different sizes. I've learned when my body is growing too large for my current size, and when I'm ready, I just go up to the next size (they jump in size by 1/4" diameter).

Also, I've always wondered how most guys measure their size, whether they measured down the top or from the size. Is it standard for guys to measure from the top, or is it just more of a personal thing? I've measured mine both ways, and I certainly like the extra 1/4" I get from measuring from the top, but I also feel like I'm kinda cheating when I do it ^^;

No problem and thanks for the info. I do plan on pumping long term so I guess only time will tell! I don't think it makes much difference whether you measure from the top or side, but I read somewhere that measuring along the top is the "correct" way. Do what you want with that haha.

Actually, that's a good question, whether or not the pump will fit all cylinders. Logically it makes sense to have a standard size, but we all know what's logical isn't always the case...let me know if you find out.

I guess it makes sense to measure from the top, since that would be the length you would most likely have if you were to get meta. And for those doubting pumping works, I went off T for a month for my top surgery, and pumped fairly regularly (although not as often as I would have preferred). I have gained between 1/4" and 1/2" from pumping alone in this past month. :)

Hey guys, not FTM but sort of being intersex male with same issue. just a small note I learned after trial and error. these bulb pumps and the valves seem to fail quickly and are bulky so my SO suggested a single breast pump hooked up to the cylinder, that works great! basically its a multi level vacuum pressure. it automatically pumps then releases and re pumps continually. seems to do  much better job and basically hands free.  The Haogin HQ618 is what I have, I think it has 10  vacuum pressure levels and cost was like  17.00 new ebay.
