Usually after mastek T is used to have a dominant hormone ... either estro or t being present is supposed to be better for bone density.

If T is necessary is up to you.
It depends on how you feel you need to transition.
People are different.
Usually with t people pass better, voice is lowered and there is facial hair growth.
Periods often stop after some time, and muscles should be much easier to build.

Imo there are psychological effects to hormone use.
MTF people imo get more emotional, intuitive, and maybe even outgoing ... more likely to strike up a conversation.

FTM people might get more rational, more prone to logical thinking, into a higher level of activity and more likely to act instead of talking ...

if you compare speech male people usually make shorter sentences and use more direct language ... less using might for example ...

well often people have a feeling of relief when using hormones.

Additionally many FTM people have conditions where t levels are higher than average already...

I didn't think taking T would change your personality in the slightest though, thats new to me.

You might look for a good gender therapist to help you and guide you.
There are even online therapists.
You might look for threads concerning this topic on susans.

Some people start with a low dose and see how it makes them feel.
Permanent changes are not likely then for a few weeks.

You might talk it through with a therapist/doc/endo.

Permanent changes concern voice and facial hair.
Changes like easier muscle growth are supposed to be reversible.

Do you need to take T (Testosterone) after a mastectomy in order to keep your breast tissue/fat to stop from growing?

  - I'm pretty sure you don't. I mean, it is a mastectomy - women with breast cancer don't just magically re-grow their breasts after having them removed. They leave about 30% of the fat in your chest, so if you gain a ton of weight they will grow too, but nothing too crazy.

Is T even necessary to take to begin with?

  - I'm not able to take T as it looks like it'll be, so I've gone the natural route (high-T foods, supplements and other good ol' tricks) and I have the same effects as some of my friends on T. My voice is deeper, I have facial hair, etc. and I'm just fine without T - T isn't good for everyone, and for some people they really shouldn't take it. (like myself)

How long does scarring of the chest area last and can it be healed over time with products?

  - Depends what you do. If you faithfully clean the area, take care of your scars, and use some oil or cream on it twice a day while following a healthy diet and all that other crap, yeah, they will fade. Most people I know who've had top surgery had the most fading after about 1 1/2 to 2 years, but it varies from person to person, as well as what kind of top surgery you had and who did it.

Can having top surgery be life threatening depending on the person?

   - Well, probably. Depends a lot of factors. Not like they're cutting your heart open or anything, though. Depends on how well you take care of yourself I guess.

Can taking Testosterone change the way I perceive things completely? Or just simple things like sex drive and body growth?

In my experience, yeah. My humour is darker, I'm a bit more blunt and more sarcastic. I'm a lot more confident, but still have most of the same stuff as before. I'm more of a realist now, and more aggressive. I'm still pretty much the same, though.
