At the bottom under the eh, vaginal hole, the stiches loosened and became small gaps. I contacted the doctor who told me to just keep it clean, it will heal in time.

So, all is good. But is anyone familiar with this and can tell me how long it takes to heal? I feel it while dilating and the biggest issue.. when I stand after dilating or in general the wound fluid .. drips. It is slightly red and although I read this isn't a bad thing.. my problem is that blood makes me lightheaded so I barely have no energy all day long these days. Any kind of pep talk or familiar experiences would be very much appreciated >_<.

I wrote about this. I was over active for the first couple of days after dilation started and had those tears. It was really painful to dilate cos each time it would cause it to open up.. plus the debiliting pain at the entrance was tiring..found I had to lie down alot ... but I had some great encouragement and advice from Cindy.. it will get better after 2 to 3 weeks. Well she was right and it does heal and what a difference

Thank you for your response! Two a three weeks from the surgery though or the stitches from loosening? Could I read the thingy you wrote about if it was in a blog? Always feels relieving to read others their experiences.

Just feels bleh at the moment. I was so happy dilitating didn't hurt at all and now it stings and I have to force myself to do it. I am also afraid it turns into a scar or something? Guess I should stop worrying and start healing. I also been pretty active my first days at home so I guess that is where it went wrong x_x.

I expect cleaning it with betadine would be a good idea. Its meant for that kind of thing.

I started doing that today after dilating and showering. The biggest issue at the moment is knowing I am 'wounded' and losing some blood or wound fluid. It makes me feels light headed >_<.

I get that feeling everytime I have an injection. Completely irrational, but I'd rather have surgery than an injection.

This sounds normal to me. My surgeon told me to expect shifting and even some opening along with discharge. Keep it clean, keep dilating (unless instructed otherwise by your surgeon) and you will be fine! Best of luck with your healing.

I had the same issue with the suture line breakdown. I kept it clean, with my partners help.

3 weeks after surgery it was still open and some granulated tissue was growing on top (normal healing), and my surgeon applied silver nitrate - which dissolves the granulated tissue, but leaves other tissue intact. Mine closed over completley about a week ago (6weeks after surgery). The surgeonsaid I could use silver nitrate a month after he did it the first time if required, but there was no need.

I was a bit worried about it at the time, but with regular rinsing after dilation it never got infected, and it has healed really well now.

Thank you for all the comments. Good to know it isn't something staying for all too long.. just expecting to keep on feeling it for a week or two then. Not great but I guess it happens :/.

One more question tho! For the ones familiar with it.. how long should I expect dilating to be less pleasent because of it? It does burn sometimes and the wound fluid makes it a tad..smelly. Not obsiously bad bit while cleaning I do recognize a scent :/.

I know how you feel. It really debilitating but you have to keep dilating. I've been dilating for 4 plus weeks and it's still no fun. Plus I still get burning sensations after cleaning with betadine. The entrance wounds have healed without granulation but the use of silver nitrate is useful.

As for odor...it comes and goes for me.. recently I had to clean out the very sensitive labia minors inner folds that protect the clitoris as there was some white stuff...which caused an odor...that's ok now.

Keep going ....there us light at the end of the tunnel ..

But I thought you said that after three weeks the stitch wounds had been healed?

Yes the wounds have healed in that the tears have filled in, but each time we dilate, at the early stages, we create micro tears..this causes me an ache sometimes ... but Omg  nothing like it was when I had to dilate with the tears unhealed. The stinging is quite normal and will also go away with time...

Sorry for the many questions . But I dip dry whenever I can. Shower it off twice a day and at night put betadine on the lil wounds. Should that be enough? I can't look at them .. I nearly faint when I see blood and/or an open wound >____<.

Yeah I had this happen as well. Essentially where the stitches come loose, granulation tissue appears and you have to have it 'chemically cautorized' by silver nitrate. I had several 'treatments' of this in and outside my vagina for the first few months after surgery and up to a year or more (one or two of which Marci did herself when she came up to her remote office in Seattle). My family doctor took care of the others (thankfully).

But my doctor told me not to touch it, just wash, keep it clean and it will heal by itself?
