Does anyone recommend something in USA better priced or should I stock up on more here to bring home???

I was recommended a lube called Surgilube (I think that is what it was called) available from Amazon in the US. I couldn't find it in Australia but someone posted that Optilube is the same. As Sorcha noted, KY is too watery. Optilube is priced about the same as Chett's OC and is marketed for use inserting catheters and for use on instruments used in pelvic examinations.  You may need to gamble a bit but in the meantime, stock up if you feel there may be a problem.  There must be something available in the US that is the same as OC.

Due to my anatomy and a lack of material to work with, I have a very tight gap in the muscle which means dilating is very difficult. I will never get past Chett's biggest dilator (32mm). I need a good gluggy lube. At 10 weeks, I am just starting to look at No:3 with some trepidation. I should be on No:4 by now. I was so tight they gave me the candle to use instead of No:1 at the start. All part of the fun!

I would stock up just in case, but you'll get a better sense of what works for you as time goes on. There's individual variation - for example, I found KY wasn't watery *enough.* 🙂 Also, the generics found in various stores (Target, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc.) will all be a little different from each other, too, so you can experiment with a bunch of different cheap ones if you want.

These days, on my doctor's recommendation, I switched to Vagisil lube at 3 months post-op and never looked back. It's very slick, doesn't dry out easily, and I only need a tiny bit. I have to buy it off Amazon b/c local stores don't carry it, and it's not as cheap, but I don't mind when one tube lasts me months.

I am not sure what they use today but KY jelly available anywhere is what I have always used. The store brand works as well as the name brand and is much cheaper.

6 Months out with Mcginn..I've been using Mineral Oil when home and store brand KY (CVS) when I'm not as that seems to be easier to clean up.  Haven't had any issues with either--but yet again I actually prefer the mineral oil over the KY (it's also a heck of a lot cheaper too), and both are pretty watery, so idk what you're really looking for or if there are any major differences with Chettawut or anything.

OMG Ema,
When Siri removed packing that was no big deal.. She used 1 for checking depth.. I cleared 7 inches... Yay.. Then....

She said she would be back next day for my first lesson at 8pm.
Well I must say I never thought that 1 would go in... She kept saying relax.. Omg.... Wow is all I have to say.
I just did my fourth on my own... I hit the 7 and thankfully not as hard to get all the way in but it is still tight..

The last thing I thought about dilation is for it to ever be kinda hard to push the dilator in all the way.. Once in.. Deep breath and just wait it out.

When I first got the kit I though 4 looks easy.. I was like omg they sure start out small.

Well, now I have a new appreciation of the importance of diligent dilation... Seems this is something we have to get used to for life now... But it's ok..

I see that number 4 on my list for the 10th week....  That thing is looking big now..

Anyway congrats on your surgery and all the rest on here... Wow.. We did it.. No one can take this away fro us..

KY is no good for sure, it dries up to fast, lot of the surgical ones are like honey. I use wetstuff but it's Australian. Surely there some great American made lube

Things to consider when selecting a lube.
It shouldn't attack the material the dilator is made of.
It must be non toxic.
It must be something bacteria will not grow in.
It helps if cleanup is simple. Don't forget that this will continue to drip in you underwear so you may need to wear feminine pads to prevent stains if you select the wrong one.

And also, there are lots of ingredients to watch out for. For years I've used lube that apparently has been causing constant (minor) yeast infections.

She does recommend some silicone lubes too which you should prob not use (until at least a few yrs after SRS when fully healed?).

Yes, we did it! If I wasn't so tired and still sore, I would be dancing around all day! 

It might be helpful for others to hear what happens if you aren't blessed with a regular starting size when it comes to dilation. It isn't the end of the world!

Once unpacked, Sri checked depth with the candle and it was obvious then I was very narrow so she got me to do it straight away with the candle and after that, I was on my own. She observed a week later.  I introduced No:1 after a week and No:2 3 weeks later. I can just get No: 3 in now (tried it yesterday and it went in. STRETCH!) but for a short time.  As you can see, if everything goes well, it should be pretty easy. Even when it isn't easy, it is still possible to progress. You just have to be very patient. Chett and I discussed this before I left. He has no doubt I will get to No:4 but it will take time. As Sri said to me, listen to your body.

The other difficulty I have is that I am unable to dilate in the middle of the day so I do 2 long session morning and night 4 days a week which is why I am typing this at 5:45am after being doing this for 20 minutes already. Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday when I work from home I stick to the times on Chett's schedule, if not the dilator sizes. I am keeping depth at 6" so it seems to be ok.

For all that I have had dilation challenges and struggle with pain even now, this thing is all mine and it is fantastic.
