I would stock up just in case, but you'll get a better sense of what works for you as time goes on. There's individual variation - for example, I found KY wasn't watery *enough.* 🙂 Also, the generics found in various stores (Target, pharmacies, grocery stores, etc.) will all be a little different from each other, too, so you can experiment with a bunch of different cheap ones if you want.
These days, on my doctor's recommendation, I switched to Vagisil lube at 3 months post-op and never looked back. It's very slick, doesn't dry out easily, and I only need a tiny bit. I have to buy it off Amazon b/c local stores don't carry it, and it's not as cheap, but I don't mind when one tube lasts me months.
