Hi Ladies,

I am considering to have FFS soon.
I have consulted with Dr. Meyer, Zukowski, Osterhaut, Leis, and Spiegel
I liked Meyer and Zukowski the best.
I do however live in NYC and would definitely prefer to stay local.
I have scheduled a consultation with Dr. Mark Filstein next Friday.

I have not heard of his name being mentioned much online and he does not have before and after photos online. I am curious what the meeting with him will reveal.

I was wondering if any one on this forum knows of or has had any work done by him.

Cheers

Hello!

I am one of Dr. Mark Filsteins patients for partial FFS (forehead and nose) and I am very pleased with not only the results but the kind staff as well. He is conveniently located in NYC so i was able to recover in the comfort of my own home instead of a hotel somewhere in Florida. Before and after picture available upon request since i am new to this site and do not know how to post the pictures yet but feel free to email me at jaemyparis@icloud.com :) I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Mark Filstein!

I just came from a consultation with Filstein. The staff was nice and the office in a great location...his work, not so much. The woman at the front desk was a trans woman, though passable, still clockable, and as that is a spokesperson for him, means that's some of the best work he'd done.

I think Filstein is known for giving natural body results, breasts, butt lift, etc. That I will give him. I was given his ffs portfolio and had to ask if I was given the wrong book to look at because all that was noticeable were the nose changes. I was not. Much of FFS work done by filstein was on trans girls who either already passed before coming to him, or who didn't but stilled looked VERY masculine, so I immediately was not very confident in his skills for this type of work. Also, his noses, while natural were often not effective from head-on and could easily be simulated with light makeup. From the side view I noticed a pattern where all of the noses had a scooped and upturned "feminine" appearance even when the elevation of the nose was too high for such a nose to look natural.

Furthermore, I am not fulltime yet and filstein asked to see me in hair, makeup, and more horemones to assess me properly which was a huge red flag because the work I was getting done was not work that would be affected by hormones and I don't have any obviously masculine features outside of the minor bonework I wanted done to be 100% passable from all angles. Furthermore, I could look feminine with hair and makeup, but the point of surgery for someone like me is to NOT have to do that. Not all women have long hair and many dont wear much makeup (I was wearing foundation) so if he could not see how to feminize bone structure then that again underscored my trepidation about his skills.

Finally, Filstein walked in to the consultation with a bad attitude, had his arms crossed the entire time, and it was like talking to a wall. I requested his expertise on which techniques were best but it was clear that he only had experience with a couple. He was actually a bit rude and I think he thought (being black in nyc) that I could not afford any of the work so he didn't bother to give me a good consultation and I was out in 5 minutes without being quoted a price. The receptionist was surprised that I wasn't quoted a price...... Of course, I have a great corporate job and can pay out of pocket, but who cares. The work was quoted at 10k, which was much less than I expected and was willing to pay but at the end of the day, given my experience and his sub par work, would probably seek out work from a surgeon experienced in this like doctors O,Z, + S.
