"In an interview with PinkNews, data specialist and entrepreneur Vivienne Ming has calculated the cost of being LGBT in the job market and the figures are massive.

Over three years, she worked out how much harder it is to be a woman, from an ethnic minority or a member of the LGBT community when entering the job market or seeking promotion.

Today's Idea Economy moves so rapidly that harnessing both traditional and new sets of data is essential.

This "tax on being different" has huge ramifications for the economy and speaking at The Economist's Pride and Prejudice event in London last week, Vivienne said business needs to understand this and how it has to change."
