For all you girls doing MtF Hormone Replacement Therapy right now, have you experienced any widening of the hips from fat distribution? What was the time frame before you noticed? And roughly how much, if you don't mind me asking.

The thing that bothers me most about my body right now is the severe lack of hips that I have going on. Of course, I know there won't be a crazy change but I feel that even an inch or two around would do wonders for my dysphoria. Thank you to anyone who feels like sharing  :)

At about 7 months I noticed my jeans getting tighter in the hips and seat. I have not gained any weight, my weight has been in the 175-180 lbs range for the past 3 months. I have put on about 3/4'',  doesn't seem like much but I don't have to wear a belt anymore to keep my pants up.

Mine were the same size after losing 25 lbs (178) and I noticed new weight going there instead of my waist.  Now that I lost another 14 pounds (164) they got smaller again.

My hips have started getting some padding. A skirt that used to fall down, doesn't do that anymore. My partner just told me out of the blue, "Your butt is getting big!"

I didn't notice much change until I switched from patches to injections, about 6 months ago, so that was about 18 months on hormones.

My weight has fluctuated quite a bit, and I've gained some in the past year to a year and a half. In that time I've noticed I've gone from 42-44 inch hips to 47, especially noticeable in the last few months (probably after I started Prometrium)... My jeans still sort of fit, but I have to wiggle into them and they're very tight around my hips, butt, and especially my thighs. :/ Usually I just wear jeggings now, lol. The weight is definitely going down there, and I'm pretty sure if I lost some around the middle, I'd be quite pear-shaped.

Thanks to everyone who responded so far! It's exciting to know that some actual hip growth does occur.

I'm especially not expecting too much. I'm 6'3" and typically hover around 135 lbs so I don't have a lot of body fat on me to begin with.

At 4 months , suddenly  I have noticed my usual loose fit jeans (no bum) have become very tight, weight same, both boobs and backside are increasing without any weight gain.

My hips seem to be getting slightly wider, but my butt is totally disappearing. Women's jeans fit better now, but I still need a belt to hold them up.

Hello I'm also 6'3" and can't imagine weighing in at 135!  Lowest I have been since age 15 is 150 pounds.  Recently I dropped 8 pounds and it came off breasts and butt, people noticed. Told them I'm going for a 'modelesque' look...which I kinda am.  Hate it when cis friends say I look like a tall flamingo.

Hips do get wider (round out?)...because it all does amazingly go to the right places.  I have a trans friend who is  5'11" and left the 'modelesque' look behind for curves (food?) and looks amazing.  Now she talks of being a plus size model.
Right picture - 11.5 months HRT, post SRS.
Thank you,

I first noticed a bit of fat redistribution at about three months in. By now (~6 years later) it may still be going on, but it's subtle; I did go from about 38" to 44" or so, I think.

In about 13 months i have gained i believe 2 inches on my hips and 2 inches on my bottom. I've gone up a total of about 3 pounds, so there has been some shifting.

I've got a great behind, but I'm not sure if I would want to package that with the hips because I long for that really nice wine glass contour.  I'm about a 35-28-35, which is really nice, but only from the side.

Definitely have! I stand in front of the mirror now, with both my legs touching, and I totally notice a defined widening as I travel down my body that wasn't there before. Also shocked by how great my butt is looking. I've definitely got a nice booty so far. :D

Lady_Oracle

I'm definitely gloating here >:-) since I lost a few inches on my waist my hips look even bigger of course, can't complain with a 26" waist and 39" hips. Fat redistribution took forever though.

I made an effort to gain weight once I started hrt, it's worked out really well. I gained about 20 lbs within 2 years or so then lost some of that weight.

Nope, even when I was 20lbs heavier after HRT, I didn't get a lot in the hip area from it. I probably have gotten more in hips/butt from working them out than anything....but I hear it's also genetic

Hi;
I have been back on HRT now for about 3 years and  doubled my Oestrogen last November. Since then women' s skinny jeans no longer look loose on my buttocks and hips and I have added about 2.5 inches. This though has become really noticeable in that on the rare occasions that I have to dress as male, all my male trousers no longer fit on the hips and buttocks (the last pair tore  across the buttocks whilst trying to  get into a 4Wheel drive passenger seat. Very undignified! )Yes my waist has got smaller (I ann dieting like mad). Mind you I real rock a short skirt now!
