No matter the fate of this bill, it's a slippery slope. Were people given total freedom to discriminate, it could perhaps lead to the reversal of a century of civil rights battles between three different groups. But if people are mandated to violate what they believe in, it could lead to government effectively mandating the beliefs of the individual, an idea directly contrary to the First Amendment. There is no easy fix here, and its a battle that will likely carry on for a long while.
